The meaning of Roses

Do you love Roses? If you’ve been reading my site you know that I do! I grow over 60 different types of roses. I know that most people, well almost all women, enjoy the surprise of having roses delivered unexpectedly to their home, or office.

The gift of a rose can say so many things – from love to friendship to compassion. If you’ve ever been curious about what the color of roses really means you should visit the ProFlowers meaning of roses page. The main page has a brief summary of what each color means, but if you click the descriptive line for each rose color you’ll be taken to a page that has quite a bit of information about that roses particular color. Did you know that orange roses symbolize passion and excitement and are an expression of fervent romance? I bet you probably would have guessed that that would describe a red rose, wouldn’t you?

The next time you want to send roses to someone take a look at the Meaning of Roses page and send them roses that reflect how you really feel about that person.






Flowers make a great muse

This evening I spent some time going over the photos I’ve taken in the last week or so of the flowers and foliage in my garden.

I really enjoy photographing my garden as it grows. Each leaf, each bud, and finally each flower contains multiple photographic opportunities as they develop.

I decided to show you this photo today. Can you see how the petals of the daffodil have tiny little sparkling areas of iridescence. Until I took this photo I never realized that the petals were so … sparkly. Spring is a time for Romance

In an earlier post I discussed why Spring was my favorite season. It’s a time of change, growth and new experiences. I was talking about gardening and nature in my post but this is also very true of people as well.

School years end, we move on, some relationships breakup, and new ones start. It can be both an exciting and dramatic time.

It’s also a time when couples often make an effort to renew their relationship by spicing things up. Perhaps it’s just because winter limited the amount of things that one might do as a couple – I mean things outside of the home of course! So when Spring arrives it’s a joy to get outside and do things that we haven’t been able to do for a few months.

Things like a romantic picnic outdoors in a seclude or private area, renting a cabin or vacation home for a romantic weekend together, or simply going out on a date.
