Wordless Wednesday
This is a honeysuckle bloom.
The honey suckle is called Dropmore Scarlet Honeysuckle. The leaf underneath the bloom almost looks like a landing pad for humming birds.
This honeysuckle has a rich scent. I most often smell it in the evening or after it’s rained.
As many of my photos lately have been, this photo was taken on a rainy day two weeks ago. I have quite a few wet flower photos from that single photo session!

Ive never seen this variety of honeysuckle before, and its gorgeous. Really nicely shot too! Youre right about that leaf below the bloom, it does look like a landing pad, 🙂 Happy WW!

I know I’ve said this before but I’ve never seen a scarlet honeysuckle. Just the whit and yellow ones. It must be so beautiful when it’s opened. Oh, and for above, I have to favorite flowers. Lilacs, any color, and Lily of the Valley.

I have this one, too, and the hummingbirds LOVE it. I don’t notice a scent like traditional honeysuckle though, do you?
I recently posted a picture of a tomato hornworm munching away on ours. I’ve removed at least a dozen of these in the last week or so. Have you been bothered by them on yours?
