Lovely blue

by Tricia

Wordless Wednesday

DSC01949 copy

This is a photo of Johnson’s Blue Geraniums. It’s a hardy perennial geranium.

I posted about this flower recently and I said that my geraniums have been looking more purple than blue lately.

I took the photo above a in May last year. Perhaps these geraniums are bluer in the cool spring weather and darker or more purple in color later in the season? Either that or perhaps my soil composition changed last year. I guess I’ll have to do a soil test.

Absolutely gorgeous, whatever color it’s supposed to be!

I’ve thought the very same thing with some of my geraniums. I thought I was crazy! haha. They are beautiful either way but I do find sometimes they take on more of a purple tone but I’ve never come across anything to explain why it would happen. Great pic!

What a beautiful shot of a beautiful flower! Do they come in other colors? Thanks for sharing.

Whatever you call that color, it’s one of my favorites. Absolutely lovely!

Abosolutely beautiful geranium. What a beautiful photo to share. I love gardening and it is a challenge here in the desert of Sedona. The extreme highs and lows make it harder. Also the hot sun in the summer.

    Looks like a Georgia O’keefe.
