This weeks theme is Twisted
Isn’t it funny how strange some plants look either as they are developing or after they’ve bloomed?
The photo above is of a seed head from a Hybrid Seiboldiana Clematis.
I grow several types of clematis and this is the only one with a strangely twisted seedpod. Most of the rest of the clematis develop seed heads that look more like this:
Do you have any plants in your garden who’s leaves or flower buds look strange at the beginning or end of their life cycle?

Wow, that’s just neat!!
and yeah, I’m a bit addicted to Dr Pepper.
Oooo, neat!
I love this. It is beautiful, isn’t it? It reminds me of a woman’s hair. We know there is some reason for it to be formed like that. Now if only I knew what a clementis was . . .
Great photos!!! I love the uniqueness of nature!!
Beutiful photos and very good choice!
Cool photo!
I was going to guess this was a clematis before even reading! I love these little “puffs” of seed head! We had a couple of clematis (I don’t even remember which ones now, sadly, only that one was a deep purple and one was white.) when we lived in Georgia. We moved the year after we got them in the ground. Sad. 🙁
My “twisted” photos are plants this week, too… come visit!
Great pictures! I’ll check my garden to answer your question!
