Extra Petunas? Have fun and plunk them into a bra planter!

by Tricia

Plant a Bra Pink

It looks like someone got creative when they were trying to come up with an idea for their extra petunias!

I’ve seen some unusual planters and garden decor, but I think this takes the cake!

I got this photo from the Garden Humor site. The photo originated in Australia. I guess the idea for this hot pink container came about as a way to raise awareness of breast cancer at a fundraiser to find a cure for breast cancer.

Great idea.

I wonder if this will cause anyone to create a lingerie garden?

I’ve seen flowers growing out of boots before but never this. Pretty cool idea although I think I will refrain. My bible belt neighbors might have me tarred and feathered.

i guess the one who came up with this idea surely knows how to get the crowd’s attention… like you, i think this one is the best… a little bit eccentric but i thin it is effective in getting some message across…

What a unique planter idea, and the story behind it is inspiring. I love the way they matched the hot pink bra with the hot pink petunias.

That is too funny. I actually think this is a really neat idea and something that might get people thinking. What a cute way to promote breast cancer awareness.

Perfect for the next time I see our Homeowners Association Secret Police photographing ‘inappropriate’ lawn enhancements. They will welcome back the flamingo.

This just goes to show that you can use ANYTHING as a planter! LOL! It definitely gave me a chuckle. Now I am off to find something interesting to use to plant flowers in. I do think that I should avoid replicating this particular one in my conservative neighborhood. Although, it would probably cause quite the commotion and talk amongst the neighbors! Hmmmm…

    Hi folks
I am the one who created the plant a bra for breast cancer and yes those are my petunia ‘implants’ – I will grow plants in anything and the idea of joining two bras together came quite by accident. I decided to give it a try and well you’ve seen the end results. Blooming wonderful!!! The reverse side of the ‘planter’ is actually another bra in this case a black one. It looked very effective either way it was hanging. I mainly left it hanging on the corner of my clothes line and other times on my patio – certainly a conversation starter.
I sent the photo to the Australian Breast Cancer Foundation and they just loved it.
It sure felt good to find my photo on this site and to read your fun comments. It is great to know that it put a smile on your face – enjoy

That’s a very unique idea, although it probably wouldn’t work all that well in a man’s garden…

I love this, I have recently had a breast reduction and can no longer wear my bra’s I have one that is black and pink and was my favorite, but it can not be altered to wear again, so I am going to do this. I love it. Thank you.
