Lovely Asters in bloom

Peach colored aster

This lovely peach colored flower is growing within the asters that I planted in June. I think it’s an Aster as well, but it’s quite a bit different than all of the rest of the asters that I’m growing.

Purple asters

It seems like my asters are blooming earlier this year. I guess that’s due all the cool weather we had in July and the first two weeks or so of August. I think my Asters have been blooming for at least two weeks, maybe three.

Asters usually bloom well into Autumn – I hope that mine do this year considering their early start.

Do you grow asters in your garden for some fall color? I have several shades ranging from a bluish purple, to mauve, pink, and a deep rose. Oh and the peachy colored one above too!

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information. GTS participants remember to check in at As the Garden Grows each week so that we’ll know you made a new post!

Your asters are lovely. That’s one plant I’ve never tried. It adds such a nice punch of color in the fall… maybe next year I’ll plant some!

    Hi Tricia,
I joined today your GTS meme and sent you 2 emails, one is with a logo I created for this meme. I hope you will like it. I put your blogroll code into a post – the link to it is placed below my “people’s blog” and I entered a link to your blog. I also entered my first post for this meme which i like very much. Gardens, flowers and kinds of plants are some of my favourite photo subjects and I am often cycling the city of Munich for new motifs as I do not own a garden myself.
I hope very much that you like my blog about “Blooms and Blossoms”.
    Warm greetings,
    Petra

The Astors are gorgeous! I think my Mom grew them in SD when I was a kid. They are just beautiful and look like soft pompoms!

I love the purples and reds in your Asters.

It’s been a couple of weeks so I figured I had better get over here and post the link to mine 🙂

The wild Asters started to bloom last week around here. Notice the goldenrod started to bloom the first week of August too?

I was thinking we had an early start this spring – the ground never froze here last winter and everything seemed to get a head start. My other theory is we’re due an early fall and winter and plants are acting like teenage boys – in a hurry to reproduce thinking they might not get another chance.

I had purpley blue asters in my front garden beds. Sadly I had to take them out this summer before they bloomed because they developed a very bad case of white mildew.

Your Asters look great, I has some in my garden last year until the foxes came along and walk on them 😛 I shall have to put some more in next year.

I don’t grow on a large scale, as you do. However, I successfully winter-sowed several annuals for our home gardens and for bouquets I sell locally. They did pretty well. I just wonder if it is normal for the few chinese asters and dahlias that I grew from seed to not have even started blooming til about ten days ago?
