Using a Skooter to go green

by Tricia

Do you do your part to conserve energy and lower green house gasses? Have you ever thought of using Electric Scooters to get around to places that you would normally drive your car too. Places that aren’t too far from home? You save money on gas, save some wear and tear on your car and put fewer green house gasses into the air if you used one occasionally.

Yep, I’ve been spending some time over at Urbanscooters.com looking at the wide variety of scooters that they sell. I love the new styles that they are coming out with and I think their prices are reasonable too.

Even if you choose to use on of their Gas Scooters you’d likely be being good to the world because I think the gas scooters put out far few emissions than a car would.

If you really wanted to get serious about traveling around on a scooter then their line of Motor Scooters would be the way to go. One of the motor scooters that I was looking at goes to a maximum speed of 53 mph – that’s pretty good for getting around the city or short distance drives isn’t it?

For the real enthusiast they have a line of Go Karts and Dune Buggies. They’re really cool looking. I haven’t gone go carting since I was a teenager but just looking at their Karts brings back memories.

Have any of you ever thought of using a scooter before? Or do you own one?

It’s too cold out!

by Tricia

Ok now I’ve really gone and done it. There is no way I’ll get the garden to bed. We had a mini snow storm late this morning and the temp as I write this is -10 Celsius! BRRRR we are going into a real cold spell here.

Has it been getting cooler and cooler in your area? And did you manage to get your garden to bed or are you leaving it open to the elements as it seems that I’m going to be doing this year?

I’m inside and my house is warm but I’m freezing just thinking about the cold weather that’s coming. Hurry up and come back summer!

Do you wear contact lenses

by Tricia

I wear a combination of contact lenses and glasses. By this I mean when I’m working or going out, or planning on driving somewhere I always have my contacts on, but often in the evening when there’s little chance that I’ll be going out I’ll switch over to my glasses if I’ve been wearing my contacts all day.

Yes I know there are contacts you can wear day in and day out but I haven’t tried them yet. I am however thinking of trying them. I was visiting Discountcontactlenses.com earlier today and their line of Acuvue Contacts caught my eye. Plus I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about Acuvue from my friends that wear them.

It looks like they sell at least 10 different types of Acuvue lenses and the prices seem to be very reasonable. The different types of lenses have different amounts of lenses per box. For example the 1-day acuvue has 30 lenses in the box, and if you purchase 12 boxes you’ll get a $40 rebate. Sounds good to me. If you don’t want 12 boxes, of course you can buy a single box if you’d like, but they have a deal that if you purchase 4 boxes you’ll get a free Acuvue carrying case.

The site lists deals on all of their Acuvue lenses for bulk orders and most have free items such as carrying cases, and lens cases when you purchase a certain amount of boxes. The site is easy to navigate and they make it easy to fill in your order. Simply fill in the information from the eye wear prescription that you got from your optometrist for each eye and decide how many boxes you want. Easy to use. Oh and they have free shipping on all orders over $89. Free shipping is always bonus isn’t it?
