Do you have a dream garden Vacation?

by Tricia

Fellow gardeners – Have you ever thought about dream garden related vacations? Where would you love to go to tour botanical gardens or tropical jungle vegetation? Oops I think I just gave away my own dream garden vacation dreams.

Yes, I’d love to go to Costa Rica or similar places and take a jungle tour to see the birds, animals and luscious tropical plants. I’d come away drooling as I’d know that in my cool climate I’d never be able to grow anything like the plants and flowers I’d see on that trip.

Another dream vacation would be to go to England. Probably London England first. I’d want to visit as many Traditional English gardens as I could as well as some of the Royal Botanical gardens. I’m certain that I’d be able to grow some of the plants that I’d see on that trip.

If I’m not mistaken I think London is fairly expensive, well seeing as their pound is more than twice the value of our dollar it is, so I’d be looking for some Cheap Hotels in London . Nothing tacky or dirty – something nice but inexpensive. OMG I’m remembering some of the English movies and series that I’ve seen where you have a room but the washroom, or water closet as they call it, is shared by all of the residents of a floor. Ok so not that kind of London Hotels. Uh huh.

Obviously I haven’t done any research into this at all. I’m sure if I take a trip to England it will be a few years from now. I don’t even know if it would be best to stay in London to see some beautiful gardens or if there is a better area of England where most of the top gardens to visit would be. Perhaps someone could tell me. It wouldn’t hurt to start gathering information for my future dream trip.

Oh and if anyone has been to London – yes it would still be on the agenda even if all of the best gardens are on the other side of England – I’ve gotta see London! Perhaps you could recommend some nice Hotels in London that my husband and I could stay at? Something nice, close to the famous London attractions – but not very expensive.

Would anyone care to tell me what your dream garden vacation would be? Do you favor a particular type of garden? If you do where would you want to go to see the best of your favorite kind of garden?

Time lapsed Tulips

by Tricia

I was browsing Youtube and I decide to see if I could find any garden related videos on the site. I happened to come across a few interested time lapsed plant related videos.

The following video- which I hope isn’t too big for my site template – is of some lovely off white tulips responding to periods of darkness and day light. You can see them open and close and gradually move from side to side as time goes by. It’s very interesting.

Use Camtasia Studio 4 for your demonstrations

by Tricia

I found some software that looks very promising for a project that I’m thinking of starting. The software is called “Camtasia Studio” and it can be used to create interactive video tutorials, and if used perhaps for a business you might use it to create training videos or illustrations, software demos and presentations.

When using Camtasia Studio 4 you can create projects with full-motion recording capability that records the screen, webcam video and voice. Plus, you can also produce professional-quality video presentations with small file sizes to post on the Internet, burn on CD-ROM, or deliver any way you choose in all the popular file formats.

The most popular uses of Camtasia Studio 4 software are to create online training tutorials, software demos, record a lecture on line or on CD-Rom, record powerpoint presentations, create short videos demonstrations and more.

I could actually see myself using the Camtasia Studio 4 software for projects on this blog such as create time lapsed videos of flowers or plants growing from seedlings to maturity and blooming or fruiting. Wouldn’t that be cool?
