This site is now part of the Glam Network

by Tricia

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but this site is now part of the Glam Network, as is my main blog Tricia’s Musings. This is the big deal I was referring to on Tricia’s Musings for the last couple of weeks.

This site and Tricia’s Musings are now listed in the Glam network, and I have signed a contract with Glam to show network ads in my sidebar. As you can see the ads in the top right sidebar are quite nice graphically, and they are for name brand products – Designer fashions, Revlon and other major cosmetic manufactures, shoe companies, jewelers and so on. I’m quite pleased with the ads and I hope that you enjoy them as well. I figured that if I’m going to advertise on some of my sites I might as well advertise quality products.

I believe the Glam network has listings for about 300 internal and external blogs that discuss topics that mainly would be of interest to women. There are a number of great celebrity, fashion, clothing, parenting and lifestyle blogs listed in the network. I’m pleased that two of my sites have been considered of high enough quality to have been included in this fairly exclusive network.

My main hope in joining this network is to increase traffic to my sites. I enjoy making new blogging friends and of course having my posts read by many. If you are here visiting from the Glam Network please stop for a moment and say hello.

Still looking for the perfect mailbox

by Tricia

I’m still on the hunt for the perfect wall mounted mailbox for our house. The lid on ours doesn’t even close anymore unless you push down on it firmly. It’s becoming a pain! It’s also creaky and noisy so when the mailman comes around and leaves new mail, if I’m not expecting it the sound of the mailbox lid can make me jump out of my skin!

Lately I’ve been looking at Whitehall Mailboxes. I really like the variety of styles, and they look like they are well made quality mailboxes.

There’s a really nice looking wall mounted bronze mailbox that I really like on the Whitehall mailboxes site. It looks tasteful and elegant and it seems to come with house numbers as well. An added bonus I’d say.

The mailbox that I like is on sale too. In fact, all of the Whitehall mailboxes are on sale. They make wall mounted mailboxes, custom mailboxes, and personalized mailboxes, as well as mailboxes on a post, street side mailboxes and slot mailboxes.

Check the site out if you are looking for a new mailbox too.

How do you like the new look?

by Tricia

Well … what do you think of the new theme?

I stayed up late the other night and finally made the changes that I’ve been warning you for weeks that I was going to make.

For some reason the Flooble expandable script that I was using to roll up some of the menu items in the sidebar of the last theme doesn’t want to work on this theme. So, until I figure out how to get it working or find something else that works the sidebars probably look a little bit full. Hopefully not bad … just full.

If you have any problems navigating the site using this new theme I’d really appreciate it if you’d let me know. I added some features that weren’t built into the theme and they seem to be working fine on my end.

I tested this theme in Firefox, Internet Explorer, Netscape and Opera and it seems to work just fine in all of them. Hopefully if you are using a browser that I didn’t list it works well in that too.

One person wrote to tell me that the text looked funny and sent me a screen shot of the site. The screen shot made the text look like a photo that’s quality was really bad, the text was frayed and blurred at the edges like poor quality print I suppose. I hope that no one else is seeing the text that way. As I said, all appears to work well and look good on my three computers and the text looks fine on my end.

I’ll probably tinker with the theme a bit more, and I’ll likely change the header as that’s the one that came with the theme. I like to personalized/ customize my sites by at least adding in my own headers.

Let me know what you think?
