Don’t tick off a gardener

by Tricia

Wordless Wednesday

If you live next door to a gardener …

fn.576

Don’t tick him or her off, or else something like this could happen!

Actually, if you live next to a gardener and you make them angry I can think of a lot worse that could happen if the gardener neighbor was vengeful. You might wonder why your grass is always dying and why your plants won’t grow? A knowledgeable gardener would know just want to put on your lawn or garden bed in order to make your plants and lawn die off. Although I think they might get more satisfaction creating a living monument like the one above to show how much they are displeased by you.

So fess up gardeners – have you ever felt like doing something like this to your one nasty neighbor that lives next to you? And perhaps more importantly – would you ever do it?

Have you made any new years resolutions yet?

by Tricia

So folks, have you made any New Years Resolutions yet? Are you going to keep the ones you make? I’ve made a few and I think that I’ve found a way that might help me keep them. You see, there’s a site on the internet called 10millionresolutions.com and when you visit that site they give you the opportunity to post your resolutions online.

It’s quite simple really, and I think it’s an interesting idea. They hope to change the world- one resolution at a time. All you need to do, if you’d like to post your resolution is go to the site and fill in the line that says “Enter your resolution and receive a free goal setting tool kit”. Just click on that area and type in your resolution. It will then take you to another page where you’ll be asked to fill out your name and email address. Just confirm your information by email a very short time later and you’ll find that you’ll have been given a free 3 day, 2 night vacation on them, plus they’ll give you a free goal resolution tool kit and a free t-shirt too once you’ve completed their 9 question survey. It’s fast, simple and as you can see – rewarding.

I listed my resolution but I don’t see it just yet. My resolution was to kick this illness and get healthier. That’s something I really need to do, but I’m afraid that it will take a little more than resolve to fix me up.

As of right now they have 601,085 resolutions and I believe, given the name of their site 10 million Resolutions that they are hoping to eventually list 10 million resolutions. Why don’t you come up with a great resolution that you can do and post it on the site.

Anyone get any gardening gifts?

by Tricia

Well, Christmas is over, and for those of us that celebrate boxing day, well that’s over too. Did anyone receive any garden related gifts this year? Pruners? Garden tools, plant seeds, winter blooming bulbs or a nice houseplant? Maybe you got some software for your computer so that you can design your next garden makeover? or some garden related DVDS or books?

I’d love to know what goodies you received.

Me? No I didn’t get anything garden related. Actually, this year, since I haven’t been working due to my Crohn’s we decided to not get gifts for ourselves or even for our adult relatives and friends.

Everyone understands and we don’t mind. After all – Christmas isn’t about the presents is it? We’re the type of people that get things for others at any time of year “just because …”. You know, we see something that someone we care about would like and we get it for them, and well, I guess we do the same for ourselves too. So as long as we can afford it and it’s not breaking the budget you might say it’s Christmas all year long.

However I would love to hear what kinds of items you got for Christmas or the holidays. I can live vicariously through your gifts. LOL
