Wallhogs – create your own wall art

by Tricia

I’ve been fascinated with the idea of owning a wallhog ever since I first heard of them a few months ago.

What’s a wallhog you ask?

Well, Wallhogs are basically BIG prints that you can hang on the walls of your home or office. What’s best about wallhogs is that you can make them as personal as you want.

By this I mean to say that you can use your own photographs to create a big print wallhog to hang on your wall.

If you have a photo of a special event – perhaps your son hitting his first home run, a lovely photograph or perhaps even a corporate logo you can have it made into a large poster, vinyl wall hanging or even a canvas print.

create_wall.jpgI mentioned corporate logo because I can see businesses using wallhogs in their offices or perhaps at trade shows and other events to advertise their company symbol or perhaps even to create a wallhog or two to display products that the company specializes in.

As far as using a wallhog in the home, why wouldn’t you want to decorate your home with personalized wall art?

You can upload your own digital photographs for use as a poster, canvas or vinyl print, or you can browse through their catalog of photos and images in order to find the perfect wallhog for your home or office.

We have a large empty wall in our basement that would be perfect for a wallhog. Prior to hearing about wallhogs I’d been thinking of having an artist paint a mural on that wall. Now I can just select one of my own photographs or choose one from the catalogue and use that on the wall.

How cool would it be to place a wallhog on one of the walls in your child’s bedroom of their favorite character or favorite things?

Wallhogs have come to be known as BIG prints, but you can get them made in several sizes.

Poster:

If you’d like to get a wallhog poster you’ll be pleased to know that a 24″ tall by 4 ft wide poster only costs $19.99. Isn’t that fantastic price – especially for an item that you can totally personalize by using your own photographs or digital images?

Posters can be created in sizes that range from 2ft to 7 ft by up to 4.5 ft. and are priced from $19.99 to $74.99. All posters have a high gloss finish and are shipped within 72 hours.

Vinyl Prints:

Vinyl Prints are the most versatile of the products available at Wallhogs because they are made to simply stick to a bare wall and can easily be removed, stored and reused again.

Just like the posters, vinyl wallhogs come in a variety of sizes ranging from 2ft to 7 ft by up to 4.5 ft. and are priced from $24.99 to $79.99 and they are also shipped within three days.

One thing I like about the vinyl prints is that the background can be removed from an image. Look at the sample image that I’ve placed above – do you see how the backgrounds been removed so that only the child about to hit a baseball is shown? You can have that done with your own prints so that the focus of the Wallhog is on whatever you want to be shown.

Canvas Prints:

Canvas prints range in size from 11 x 14 inches up to 24 by 36 inches. The prices for a quality canvas print wallhog are quite reasonable as well – $19.99 to $49.99. Surprisingly canvas prints usually ship on the same day.

Are you beginning to see why I think Wallhogs are a fantastic idea? You can use them anywhere! Where else can you get high quality, fully customizable art for a reasonable price?

Oh and if you are an artist or photographer Wallhogs has a program that allows artists to sell their work within their catalog, or via their own website.

I’ve yet to purchase a Wallhog but I can tell you that the wallhog team is fantastic.

Scott, who writes the Wallhogs blog, and I have been talking occasionally over the last few months and as soon as I get my act together I’ll be uploading several of my own photographs to the Wallhogs catalogue. Scott is also happy to promote photobloggers on the Wallhogs Blog by posting their photographs in his post. He’s posted a few of my photo’s on the blog already.

Do take a moment to visit the Wallhogs website to get more information about the prints that you can create for your home or office walls. Don’t worry if you don’t have any good photographs to use – browse the catalog as there’s some fantastic images and photographs there for you to use.

Realtors use House4Cell to instantly get info to interested buyers

by Tricia

I’ve been asked to discuss an exciting new service that’s been made available to those who work in the real estate market. The name of the service, a nice play on words, is House4Cell. This service allows realtor’s to use mobile technology in order to market properties.

Those interested in a property will only have to text in a code that can easily be found on the “for sale” sign in front of a property and they’ll instantly get a message containing photos and information about the property.

As a homeowner, I think I would have liked having this technology available to me when I was searching for a home to purchase. As it was, when I did see a house that looked interesting I’d stop and write down the name of the realtor, as well as the website if it was listed and then go home and try to do some research on the internet. Now, however, if a realtor were using the House4Cell service I could get the information I wanted within a moment of texting the code into my cellphone.

There is a free demo of the service on the House4Cell website if you are interested in seeing how this new program works.

I’m sure this program will enable realtors to connect with interested buyers much more quickly and it might in fact increase their sales. As I said, when I was looking for a home to purchase I would have been happy to use such a service and I’m sure many of those who are reading this writeup would also find such a service to be helpful.

When a potential new client uses the text system to get information for a particular property, not only will they get information about the property and up to three photos, but they will also get fax numbers and email addresses so that they can request more information or perhaps even set up an appointment to view the property.

Realtors offering this service might actually get more leads to follow up on than their competitors who choose not to sign up with House4cell.

Plus, through this service you’ll be able to send “blast alerts” to homebuyers who have opted-in. Through these blast alerts you can let interested parties know of price-drops or other homes with similar features in the same area.

Inquiries can also be tracked online.

If you are a realtor think about checking out this new service. Rate plans start at $29.99 for three listings, which is only about $8 per property.

House4Cell is a sister company of Cellit Mobile Marketing. They make it easy for their clients to manage their mobile market campaigns.

Designer Gifts has quality gifts for every budget and occasion

by Tricia

I’ve taken some time to have a really good look at this website and my overall opinion of the site is that it’s a great place to get some quality gifts in a wide range of prices from under $15 and up.Speaking of prices and selection, you can browse through the site in several different ways – by price, by occasion, by category, by recipient, and even by upcoming holiday. I’ll give them an A+ for that feature because I love visiting sites that you can do a number of things in a number of different ways, preferably all easy and straightforward.

giftbasket.jpgOne section that I really like is the Cheap gifts section. You can find items in that category that are listed as being under $10, $10 to $20 and so on right up to items listed at $100 and up.

Since Fathers Day is the next major special occasion that’s coming up in the near future, those of you who are looking for gifts might want to have a look at the Gift ideas for men category. Once you visit this category page you’ll find male oriented gift baskets, personalized gifts such as a stainless steel Army knife that can be engraved, a Pilsner glass, or a flask among many other items that can be personalized. There are also MP4 players, Picture frames, BBQ and grilling type gifts and a whole lot more gift ideas that would be perfect for a man.

I like that the menu, on the left side of the page has pop out sub categories. You can get to the area that you want to visit very easily in that manner, or you can just simply see what’s in each section by hovering over it with your mouse.

There is nothing in particular that I don’t like about this site. The prices are more than reasonable and the quality of the gift items is outstanding. When looking through the site I found that if you take a look at the gifts by recipient section you can even find gifts for pets and military personnel. I don’t believe that there are many designer gift sites out there that also cater to pets and the military.

One of the sections that I got caught browsing in for some time was the Picture Frames section. Yes, picture frames tend to be a standard gift for all occasions aren’t they? The are of the picture frame category that most interested me was the Digital picture frames area. I don’t have one of these yet, but after checking out a few different brands and styles I really really want one.

With some online stores my complaints tend to fall into the area of purchasing and shipping. I can’t find a fault in this area either. Designer Gifts accepts all major credit cards and even mail order purchases. They also ship to Canada, they do not however ship outside of the USA, US Territories and Canada. I’m personally pleased that they ship to Canada because I often find items online that I’d like to buy but can’t because the stores don’t ship to Canada. This can be really disappointing once you’ve taken the time to find an item and perhaps even started the purchasing process. So Kudo’s to Designer gifts for shipping throughout most of North America. Now if they’ll start doing international deliveries I’m sure many of you reading this would be quite happy.

If you do decide to purchase anything from Designer Gifts you might be happy to know that shipping is free if your purchase total is over $75. Since shipping can really add to the cost of purchasing an item online I think it’s great that they offer free shipping on some purchases.

Do check out this online store. I think you’ll be pleased with both the selection and prices.
