Floral arrangement in Oil by Ashely Cecil

by Tricia

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being contacted by a talented artist. Her website is located at AshleyCecil.com. She’d just finished a stunning floral arrangement oil painting and had posted a photo of it on her website and thought that I, and my readers, might be interested in viewing her work.

Here’s a copy of the floral painting:

centerforwomenfamiliesgala-small.jpg

Isn’t that just gorgeous? If you’d like to take a better look at the painting and watch a time lapse video of it’s creation please feel free to visit her site “The Painting Journalist”.

She created this painting after attending a gala celebrating 20 years of “Service and Survival” for The Center for Women and Families. Approximately 1000 guests attended the gala and the ballroom was filled with lovely white floral arrangements. It was the floral arrangements which inspired her to create the lovely oil painting.

Ashley sells her paintings to raise money for non-profit organizations. The painting that I’ve shown you today is for sale, and a portion of the sale price will be donated to the Center for Women and Families.

The Center for Women and Families has been serving the Louisville area since 1912. Originally a YWCA, The Center is now a private non-profit agency serving fourteen counties in Kentucky and Indiana. Last year, The Center served over 30,000 people through three main programs: the Domestic Violence Program, the Rape Crisis Program, and the Family and Community Support Programs.

Purchasing this painting will support a great cause and assist in helping women in need of assistance get back on their feet again.

Ashley describes herself and her work:

Welcome to the marriage of painting and social activism. I’ve been creating art ever since discovering that my mom’s Chanel lipstick made a great oil pastel. Through formal art education and years of professional experience, the adult version of this vocation has evolved into my own job title, “painting journalist.” I’m addressing philanthropic issues utilizing painting as my medium of communication. Much like a photojournalist, I travel to locations/events of cultural interest and capture them, only with my brush.

Please do visit Ashley’s site. She’s a very talented artist and her paintings cover a wide range of “Life and Living” related genres.

Find out if your spouse is cheating

by Tricia

I just watched a video for a software product called PC Pandora and I’m totally amazed at what it can do. It’s stealth software for your computer that can monitor every keystroke, and take snap shots of sites visited, IM messages, email, written documents – everything.

PC Pandora was created for three main reasons. Those who want to monitor their children’s activities on the computer and help keep them safe, employers who want to monitor their employees computer activities and perhaps see how they use company data, and of course, the biggest reason of them all, to monitor spouses who might be cheating.

I must admit I was a little skeptical at first as to just how much PC Pandora could capture on a computer but after watching this video I have no doubt that there’s nothing that couldn’t be captured on a computer if PC Pandora was running on it.

Now, I’m certain that I have a good marriage and that my spouse is not, and would never cheat on me. We spend three days a week together and he works just down the street from our home and comes home pretty much right after work all the time. He doesn’t exhibit any of the signs of a cheating spouse. In fact, even though I’m stuck at home with my illness I am probably the one that, if someone took a hard look at our activities, would look more like a spouse who could be cheating due to my long hours on the internet, and late nights up talking to people online and so on. Why would someone suspect me over my husband? Well it’s said that 9 out of 10 people say cheating is easier today than ever before due to the internet and since I spend so much time on the internet I guess that could raise suspicion, if my husband were the suspicious kind.

The video that I watch opened with some amazing facts. Some that I was aware of, and others that I hadn’t heard before. Such as the fact that 57% of women cheat on their partner, and that one in three people have turned an online chat or email into a real life meeting that ended up in sex.

Notice that I said I’m certain that I’m in a good marriage? Did you know that one in two people who consider themselves happily married have also cheated on their spouses? I haven’t. Honest!

If you have reason to suspect that your spouse might be cheating on you a product like PC Pandora can either set your mind at ease, or confirm your worst suspicions. I mean, I don’t think my husband would ever cheat on me, but if I ever had reason to suspect him I’d rather know the truth sooner than later so I could get on with my life.

PC Pandora can be set up to run in stealth mode on your computer so that there is no way anyone but you would know it’s running on the computer. You can set it up to take snap shots at whatever intervals you’d like. For example it could take a screen shot of your spouses online activities every 30 seconds perhaps. You can access all of the data that PC Pandora has collected by using an encrypted password.

You know watching that video and hearing how much cheating is going on was kind of scary. It said that 9 out of 10 women who feel that their partner is cheating are correct, and that three out of four married men cheat on their wives. Wow! With stats like that it seems like most marriages or relationships are doomed.

If you want to check up on your spouse, child or employees Click Here For More Info On PC Pandora. Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you – You can try PC Pandora before you buy, and that they offer a money back guarantee. Check it out for yourself.

I’m just hoping that I never have a need to check up on my spouse.

Do you think personal loans are over used?

by Tricia

I think there comes a time in almost everyone’s life when they have to apply for a personal loan. How many of my readers have never taken out personal loans? I suspect that only about 10% to 20% of you haven’t taken one out yet.

I bet all of us know people that are living beyond their means and have taken out multiple personal loans just to pay their bills. I see people nodding their heads. I think that is one of the worst reasons to have to take out a personal loan.

I think we have to face that facts that most people, even those living within there means are going to need to take out a loan at some point in their lives. Whether it be unsecured loans, personal loans, a mortgage or even home improvement loans, we’re all going to be in debt one day.

The only loan that we are paying off at this time is our mortgage. That’s a great feeling, because at one point we were paying off two student loans, and a personal loan for our car purchase. Now those are all paid off and it’s just the mortgage that we have to worry about. However, just like anyone else I would suspect that we might take out a personal loan at some point in the future, but I would hope that it would never be because we spent to excess.

How do you feel about people taking out personal loans? Do you think that the people you know do this far too often? Are there better ways to pay of debts than to keep taking out loans?

My view is that a personal loan should really only be taken out by someone who has the means to pay it back in a timely manner. Yes, on the very rare occasion there will be emergency expenses, such as a large hospital bill, that makes it necessary for some to take out a personal loan, but I don’t think that people should take out loans just to get out of debt.

Perhaps the kind of people who take out loans because they’ve over spent should look at debt consolidation or talk to a banker and get some loan advice so that they can understand their spending habits and learn how to overcome that desire to live beyond their means.

What do you think?
