Almost debt free

by Tricia

I’m lucky enough to be almost debt free. Oh sure, we have a mortgage on our house that we put money down on twice monthly, and of course we do have a credit card that’s built up a balance that we are working to pay off, but other than that we don’t own anyone any money.

I’m really proud of how we stand financially. There were times in the past when we had to take out loans to consolidate debt, and we’ve had an unsecured loan in the past as well.

I hope those days are over. I really don’t like the idea of borrowing money. Especially when I have to pay it back at an unreasonable interest rate. I do think that for some people it’s far too easy to get a loan these days. It almost seems like the bank doesn’t check to make sure that the person will really be able to pay it off on time, and the next thing you know they’ve missed payment and then they are approved for a bad credit loan to help pay off the original debt. It just seems like a vicious cycle.

I’m so glad that it seems we are out of that now. If we ever do take out another loan it will either be a bigger mortgage loan or perhaps one of those secured loans so that we can do major renovations on the house.

Actually a new car might be in our near future. We don’t have the cash to pay for one outright so I suppose we’d have to finance that too. But that’s it. No more loans for us if we can help it.

How do you feel about loans?

Earn higher interest on your savings account

by Tricia

Are you tired of earning either no interest or barely any interest on your savings account? I know I am. We aren’t in the best position to have thousands of dollars sitting in a bank account, but I’d still like to earn some interest on the money that I am trying to save.

My current savings account gives me less than 1% interest if I have a thousand dollars in my account each month and the interest rates don’t go up higher until my account has $5000 or more in it. I feel ripped off.

If you do too you should check out a great site where Online banking interest rate comparisons at SavingsAccounts.com will help you find the best high yield online savings account or checking account.. I kid you not. They have one bank listed that offers 6% interest on any kind of new account and they don’t charge any monthly fees or require a minimum monthly balance. The only requirement is that it must be a new online account.

There’s no reason to not earn higher interest on your money. You can’t lose. Check out SavingsAccounts.com today.

$50 Amazon gift card Bonus with new credit card

by Tricia

If you’ve been thinking of getting a new credit card or upgrading the one that you are using now you should visit cardreviewer.com in order to view their wide range of credit cards.

The Card Reviewer offers credit cards for people who’d like to get 0% interest on their purchases and balance transfers. They also carry cards that offer cash back, student cards and ones for people who have bad or poor credit ratings.

Another reason to visit the Card Reviewer is to take advantage of their special offer. If you sign up for a card through their site you’ll get a $50 Amazon.com gift card as a signing bonus. I’m not sure how long this offer is available so don’t delay if you’re in the market for a new credit card.
