Need some painting done? Try College Pro Painters

by Tricia

As many of you know we’ve been slowly renovating our home on our own. It’s been an ongoing process. We got our house 6 years ago this month and we still aren’t finished!

When we first got our home we tore down a few walls and of course repaired the damage. Then we proceeded to paint the whole house on our own. We had to do this because the entire house was painted robins egg blue! It’s not a terrible color, but I certainly didn’t want my whole house that color!

Now, if we’d been smart we could have saved ourselves quite a bit of time and hired a company such as College Pro Painters to do all of our house painting. I don’t dislike house painting, but considering all the home improvement tasks I’ve done in the last 6 years I’d have to say that house painting is my least favorite.

What I like about College Pro Painters is that it’s run and operated by college students. College students working for College Pro Painters paint approximately 30,000 homes in communities throughout North America. They operate in 7 Canadian Provinces and 29 U.S. States.

By using the services of College Pro Painters you will not only not have to do a task that you might not enjoy or have time for yourself, but you’ll also be providing work for college students.

As I said earlier the company is owned and run by college students throughout North America. All of the managers are full time college students. Each year they recruit, select and train hundreds of franchise managers to deliver a quality paint job.

Now that I know about College Pro Painters I think I’ll bookmark the site so that I can contact them the next time I have some rooms to paint. I’d love to give that duty to someone else and if I can help college students earn money for their tuition by doing so all the better.

If you need some painting done visit the site and book their services. Oh and don’t forget to take a look at their job gallery so that you can see some of College Pro Painters past work.

Discount Safety Gear

by Tricia

As I’ve said many a time, Spring is the time of year when home owners start to spruce up their homes, and start renovation projects both indoors and out. It’s also the time of year when new housing projects start up, and or construction crews and road crews get busy on various city or private construction projects.

As you probably know by now my husband and I do a lot of our own projects around the home. We attempt to work on our projects in the safest ways possible, for example we wear gloves, masks and safety glasses when doing many of our projects so that we can protect our hands, lungs and eyes.

I strongly believe that anyone working on a DIY project or who works professionally in the field of construction should have the appropriate safety gear.

DiscountSafetyGear.com has a wide assortment of industrial safety gear. They have products ranging from Safety Goggles to ear plugs, welding helmets and accessories, respiratory protection, Hard Hats, flashlights, other lighting accessories and many more products including a wide variety of First Aid Kits, and you’ll even find a section on safety laws and links to safety related websites and resources.

I think that this website has been well thought out. The menu system to the left has been divided into all the main safety gear related categories that I’d imagine anyone looking for safety related products would want to see.

When you open up one of the category sections, perhaps the hard hats section for example, you’ll find thumbnails that divide the section into sub-categories giving the visitor the ability to shop by price, brand, or type. Below that section you’ll see samples of their most popular hard hats.

Did you know that you can purchase Harley Davidson hard hats and Pink Hard Hats? You can be safe and maintain a fashionable look at the same time!

When you find a product that interests you all you need to do is click on the thumbnail and you’ll be taken to a page where you can get more information about the product and see the various prices for that product. Since this website specializes in supplying industrial safety gear you’ll see discounted prices listed for the purchase of multiple quantities of each item.

I found the site to be easy to use, easy to navigate and there were images and detailed product descriptions. That’s everything I want in an online store – no matter what they sell.

Since there are more and more people like myself who are beginning to renovate their homes or properties on their own I’d love to see a home safety category that would list products that could be used in the home setting to keep home owners safe.

Perhaps they could sell three legged ladders, painting platforms – especially ones that could be set up over a staircase and other items such as those. Perhaps the store owners could look up data about accidents in and around the home and see how many are related to DIY, maintenance or renovation products and choose to sell items that would make the kind of activities that caused those accidents safer?

I would think falls from high places – like working on a roof, or falling off an unsecured ladder would be high on the list, which is why I was suggesting that a three legged ladder might be an item that they should consider selling.

If the Discount Safety Gear store owners took the time to look up home related accidents they might want to make up some information sheets or FAQ’s that explained how to do some of the more common maintenance and DIY tasks in a safer manner. I’m certain that they’d get an influx of visitors who were searching for this kind of information.

I realize that the Discount Safety Gear store sells products mainly to small construction companies, but if they added a selection of items and information related to home safety gear I think they’d double or even triple their traffic and sales. There’s a lot of potential for this store if they’d care to expand.

If you work in an industry that requires safety gear, or do home reno projects like myself, do take a look at this online store. The items are reasonably priced, and if you purchase over $100 worth of goods the shipping is free. Check it out.

Over 20,000 types of flooring at DiscountFlooring.com

by Tricia

Once the good weather begins here in my home town I notice a trend. Houses begin to go up for sale, and those that bought new homes begin renovating them, or perhaps those that didn’t sell also begin to upgrade their homes. This activity usually begins in March or April and continues at least until September.

Are you one of the people who are beginning to upgrade or renovate your home this year? Are you thinking of putting in new flooring? If you are, you might be interested in visiting DiscountFlooring.com where you can purchase everything from wood floors to laminate flooring, tile floors, porcelain tile, and even glass floors.

What I like about the site is that you can browse through the site by the type of flooring or tiling that you are looking for, or by brand names. There are thumbnail photos of each type of tile or flooring that you can click on in order to get more information about the product, as well as it’s pricing per square foot.

Discount Flooring lists more than 20,000 different types of flooring and tile products. You can choose from hardwood floors, laminate, cork, bamboo, ceramic tile, grantite, travertine, or glass.

There’s also an article library at Discount Flooring where you can find articles about picking the right flooring for your home, installation guides, and other tips and tricks for designing a room. They also have a service locator, so if you’d like to have your new flooring professionally installed you can use the service locator to find a contractor in your area.

We might install new flooring in our kitchen when we get around to renovating it. I’ve bookmarked this site so that I can browse through the different types of flooring when the time comes to decide what we’re doing with our kitchen. I suggest that you also bookmark the site if you have renovation plans in your future.
