Artificial light and growing plants indoors

by Tricia

As gardeners we know that one of the most important aspects to plant growth is the availability of light. Although sunlight usually gives the best results sometimes we need to substitute electric lamps in order to provide a form of artificial light to our plants.

It’s too cold out!

by Tricia

Ok now I’ve really gone and done it. There is no way I’ll get the garden to bed. We had a mini snow storm late this morning and the temp as I write this is -10 Celsius! BRRRR we are going into a real cold spell here.

Has it been getting cooler and cooler in your area? And did you manage to get your garden to bed or are you leaving it open to the elements as it seems that I’m going to be doing this year?

I’m inside and my house is warm but I’m freezing just thinking about the cold weather that’s coming. Hurry up and come back summer!

Beautiful flower video

by Tricia

I just found this flower video on Youtube.

I love each and everyone of the flowers that I saw in this video.

The colours are so vibrant, the flowers all open. When the photos are stills of buds you just expect a time lapse to start so that you can see the bud open. It’s just amazingly beautiful.

The music accompanying the video is also very nice – gives it a relaxed feel. I think so anyway. Let me know If you agree that the flowers are just lovely and that the music goes well with the video, or I’m just easily impressed.
