Working in other gardens now

by Tricia

Well Chris is out of town tonight. He went to see his family and help them get a few things done around their own yard.

His parents are getting older and for some reason they decided to pull out most of their shrubs and even the raspberry plants that I gave them a few years ago so that their yard would be mostly just grass. Grass that had to be reseeded and cared for this weekend.

I’m still not sure why they took out the raspberries. They were at the back fence beside some trees so they weren’t interfering with the yard in anyway. Raspberries don’t need much care and they weren’t in the middle of the yard. Oh well … that’s what they wanted to do and I guess that’s ok.

Did anyone else go to their parents or perhaps to an older neighbor or relatives home to help them get some yard work done this weekend?

The V garden bed

by Tricia

DSC02046

I’ve often referred to this small garden bed as “the V“. It’s located at the end of my driveway, and in truth I only own half of this small V shaped flower bed although all of the plants located within “the V” are mine.

At the back of the V you can see tiger lilies growing. On the front left you can see Globe Flowers which I’m sorry to say have finished blooming. They might produce another set of blooms for me in August if I get out there now and cut them down a bit.

In the middle there’s a Valencia rose that got hit hard this winter because I didn’t protect it. It’s still alive and has grown quite a bit since I took this photo.

To the right of the globe flowers there’s a cream colored Day lily, and right beside that is the beginning of our arched trellis that has the Breath of Life climbing rose and a lovely clematis growing on it on the V garden bed side, and a Harlequin Honeysuckle on the other side.

I just realized that you can also see some dwindling daffodils in this photo too. There’s about 10 daffodil bulbs planted in this flower bed.

So that’s “the V”. Now you’ll have an idea of what I’m talking about when I discuss my many garden beds. This one competes with another tiny flower bed at the side of my house for smallest flower bed.

Pamper your dog with a designer dog bed

by Tricia

Any dog lovers out there? I’ve just been to a fantastic website called OhMyDogSupplies.com and they have a huge selection of products for dogs.

You can get everything for your beloved pet dog at this online store. They carry dog travel accessories, dog mats, ramps, blankets, throws, bowls, car seat covers, placemats, elevated dog feeders, dog mats and crate mats and best of all a full line of dog beds!

If you want to pamper your pet you’ve got to take a look at the dog beds. Beds? What am I saying? They not only have dog beds but doggy couches, designer dog beds, orthopedic dog beds and wooden dog beds.

My personal favorite is the dog couches. I think this would be a favorite of most dogs too since where do we find them whenever we come home from work? On the couch of course … so why not give them there own couch to lay on?

They actually specialize in designer dog beds that can’t be found in stores like Petco. I must say that I do like their designer dog beds. They have a huge selection of styles, and the materials and patterns used for the dog beds are of a quality equal to human quality furnishings. I’m sure you could pick out a designer doggy bed that would match your homes decor.

I always treat my pets like a member of the family because I truly believe that they are family. I know several people that feel the same way. If you are like me – why not treat your four pawed family member to a luxurious yet well priced dog bed?

Oh and before I forget, all pet beds. Isn’t that great?
