Dreaming of Buenos Aires and escaping this cold weather

by Tricia

It’s -15 Celsius (5 F) outside right now! at 6 in the evening – do you know how cold it will be at midnight! Ahhhh!

The furnace is going full blast and still I feel cold. Just at the thought of what temperature it is outside even thought it is fairly toasty inside my home. This is when my old lady neighbour will end up walking into my backyard through the ice and snow to knock on my window and ask me to fix her TV … just when I want to hibernate indoors.

I am dreaming of a trip to a warm place right now. Some place in South America perhaps like Buenos Aires where the temperature is 25 C (77 F) right now. Oh my gosh, I’d love to be there right now just for the warmth.

Ok there’s plenty of reasons other than our current cold weather as to why I’d love to be in Buenos Aires right now. The warm temperatures are a huge factor, I’ll freely admit it, but the beaches, the people, the cafe’s, and the exotic animals. As many of you know I love reptiles and well, South America definitely has reptiles.

Actually as an amateur photographer I’d love to just sight see, and wander the streets taking photographs that would capture the essence of Buenos Aires as I saw it from a visitor/ tourists point of view.

I obviously found a site about Buenos Aires as I began to day dream about going to someplace warm and tropical and the site I found is specifically about Buenos Aires and it highlights all the different things that you can do in the city and surrounding area. The posts contain links to other great sites about specific attractions in Buenos Aires.

I’m bookmarking this site. I know I’m going to get away to a warm place like Buenos Aires eventually and this site has a lot of great info about things to do, hotels and places to see while visiting this interesting city.

Dubai, a most interesting place to visit

by Tricia

Do you ever wish that you could travel to an exotic land? I do, and after reading about Dubai I can’t think of a more interesting or exotic place to travel to. You might know that Dubai is the second largest emirate of the united Arab Emirates after Abu Dhabi, but you might not know that it’s the most populous area as well.

Oddly enough, when many of us think of the middle East and the United Emirates we probably think of oil as one of their main sources of revenue- and what a source that is. However Dubai only receives 6% of it’s gross domestic product through sales of oil. Increasingly a major source of it’s revenue comes from tourism.

dubai_sports_city.jpg Would you have ever believed that Dubai would have a fantastic sports stadium such as the Dubai Sports City property. Just look at that. It’s a first class sports arena.

So yes, I’m thinking that perhaps someday Chris and I might visit Dubai, after all it’s hot all year round so we could go at any time of year and there are so many interesting places to visit. Just the sheer history of the land. Hey, perhaps we’ll visit the artificial Islands such as Dubai Marina or The Palm – a completely man made island in the shape of a palm. What a creative idea.

Have any of my readers ever considered visiting a place such as Dubai?

Dreaming of living in exotic lands

by Tricia

Living in a predominantly Greek area of the city I’ve learned quite a bit about Countries such as Greece and Turkey. Actually I also learned a lot about these Countries and their people when I worked in the jewelry trade too now that I think of it. As a result of living and working with people from these two Countries I’ve developed and interest and I’d love to visit both Countries one day.

Actually living in a Country such as Turkey would be very interesting. I’ve looked at a lot of pictures and the country is just gorgeous. Not to mention that many of the popular plants that I grow in my garden – the rose for one – are said to originally come from Turkey.

Looking at this Turkish real estate site makes me drool. I wish I could just pack up and move to such an exotic land. Perhaps some day if I get working on developing my earning potential and get healthy and get back to work I’ll be able to afford one of the beautiful Mediterranean style homes that are featured on the above mentioned site.

I can dream can’t I?
