Discount Safety Gear

by Tricia

As I’ve said many a time, Spring is the time of year when home owners start to spruce up their homes, and start renovation projects both indoors and out. It’s also the time of year when new housing projects start up, and or construction crews and road crews get busy on various city or private construction projects.

As you probably know by now my husband and I do a lot of our own projects around the home. We attempt to work on our projects in the safest ways possible, for example we wear gloves, masks and safety glasses when doing many of our projects so that we can protect our hands, lungs and eyes.

I strongly believe that anyone working on a DIY project or who works professionally in the field of construction should have the appropriate safety gear.

DiscountSafetyGear.com has a wide assortment of industrial safety gear. They have products ranging from Safety Goggles to ear plugs, welding helmets and accessories, respiratory protection, Hard Hats, flashlights, other lighting accessories and many more products including a wide variety of First Aid Kits, and you’ll even find a section on safety laws and links to safety related websites and resources.

I think that this website has been well thought out. The menu system to the left has been divided into all the main safety gear related categories that I’d imagine anyone looking for safety related products would want to see.

When you open up one of the category sections, perhaps the hard hats section for example, you’ll find thumbnails that divide the section into sub-categories giving the visitor the ability to shop by price, brand, or type. Below that section you’ll see samples of their most popular hard hats.

Did you know that you can purchase Harley Davidson hard hats and Pink Hard Hats? You can be safe and maintain a fashionable look at the same time!

When you find a product that interests you all you need to do is click on the thumbnail and you’ll be taken to a page where you can get more information about the product and see the various prices for that product. Since this website specializes in supplying industrial safety gear you’ll see discounted prices listed for the purchase of multiple quantities of each item.

I found the site to be easy to use, easy to navigate and there were images and detailed product descriptions. That’s everything I want in an online store – no matter what they sell.

Since there are more and more people like myself who are beginning to renovate their homes or properties on their own I’d love to see a home safety category that would list products that could be used in the home setting to keep home owners safe.

Perhaps they could sell three legged ladders, painting platforms – especially ones that could be set up over a staircase and other items such as those. Perhaps the store owners could look up data about accidents in and around the home and see how many are related to DIY, maintenance or renovation products and choose to sell items that would make the kind of activities that caused those accidents safer?

I would think falls from high places – like working on a roof, or falling off an unsecured ladder would be high on the list, which is why I was suggesting that a three legged ladder might be an item that they should consider selling.

If the Discount Safety Gear store owners took the time to look up home related accidents they might want to make up some information sheets or FAQ’s that explained how to do some of the more common maintenance and DIY tasks in a safer manner. I’m certain that they’d get an influx of visitors who were searching for this kind of information.

I realize that the Discount Safety Gear store sells products mainly to small construction companies, but if they added a selection of items and information related to home safety gear I think they’d double or even triple their traffic and sales. There’s a lot of potential for this store if they’d care to expand.

If you work in an industry that requires safety gear, or do home reno projects like myself, do take a look at this online store. The items are reasonably priced, and if you purchase over $100 worth of goods the shipping is free. Check it out.

Flags and Accessories at the United States Flag Store

by Tricia

I’ve been asked to discuss United States Flag Store, an online store where it appears that you can purchase just about anything to do with flags and their display.I’ll start by saying that as far as selection goes I doubt that you’d find a better online collection of American Flags anywhere on the internet or off-line. Which, I suppose, is why they really are the largest vendor of online flags and flagpoles. You can get everything from small flags, car flags, pins, patches and decals, patriotic decorations, as well as patriotic wear and gifts.

Not only do they sell US Flags, but they also sell custom flags, state flags, World flags, flag display cases, flag accessories and Outdoor Flagpoles. There’s even a section on the site that contains information about flag etiquette and flag care.

Browsing the site is quite easy. Simply use the menu on the left hand site of each page to reach the section that you’d like to look at. Once you are on a page with the type of items that you are interested in purchasing you’ll find thumbnail photos of the products, and if the items come in different types, styles or sizes you’ll be able to travel deeper into the site until you are looking at exactly what you’d like to possibly purchase.

For example, if you are interested in purchasing a flagpole you could click on the flagpoles menu on the left hand side of any page, then once you are in the flagpole section you’ll see thumbnails and short descriptions that will lead you into specific pages for the various types of flagpoles that United-States-Flags.com sells, such as 20FT ground flagpoles, residential flagpoles, commercial flagpoles, Wall mounting US Flag pole kits, and accessories such as Snaps, trucks, brackets, eagles, and recognition rocks that you might need to use when hanging your flag, or that you might need to replace on your current flag display.

What I’d like to see improve on the site, is that when you click on the State Flag area and perhaps choose “Alabama – Kentucky” state flags, it wasn’t clear to me that this was an alphabetical list of state flags from A to K. That could of course be just me. The World flag section is set up that way as well.

Now, this is a site that sells flags, and to my eyes the only thing with a splash of color on the site are the flags themselves. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that at all. When I visit a site whether it be a blog or a website, or an online store, I’m much more concerned with the content and navigation of a site than it’s appearance, but I do know that some people will not delve deeper into a site if they do not like the initial look of the site.

So I’m suggesting that perhaps a header displaying a colorful flag be placed across the top of the page or some kind of design consideration like that be added to the website. Yes they do have a small logo with a flag in the top left hand corner of the page, but it doesn’t add much pizazz to the website.

Prices seem quite reasonable, and the selection really does appear to be unbeatable. I really can’t find any flaws in the design, and I’ve only suggested a few minor improvements that would make the site a little bit more appealing to the eye.

Readers, do you have anything to add regarding the United States Flag Store?
