Discount Safety Gear

by Tricia

As I’ve said many a time, Spring is the time of year when home owners start to spruce up their homes, and start renovation projects both indoors and out. It’s also the time of year when new housing projects start up, and or construction crews and road crews get busy on various city or private construction projects.

As you probably know by now my husband and I do a lot of our own projects around the home. We attempt to work on our projects in the safest ways possible, for example we wear gloves, masks and safety glasses when doing many of our projects so that we can protect our hands, lungs and eyes.

I strongly believe that anyone working on a DIY project or who works professionally in the field of construction should have the appropriate safety gear.

DiscountSafetyGear.com has a wide assortment of industrial safety gear. They have products ranging from Safety Goggles to ear plugs, welding helmets and accessories, respiratory protection, Hard Hats, flashlights, other lighting accessories and many more products including a wide variety of First Aid Kits, and you’ll even find a section on safety laws and links to safety related websites and resources.

I think that this website has been well thought out. The menu system to the left has been divided into all the main safety gear related categories that I’d imagine anyone looking for safety related products would want to see.

When you open up one of the category sections, perhaps the hard hats section for example, you’ll find thumbnails that divide the section into sub-categories giving the visitor the ability to shop by price, brand, or type. Below that section you’ll see samples of their most popular hard hats.

Did you know that you can purchase Harley Davidson hard hats and Pink Hard Hats? You can be safe and maintain a fashionable look at the same time!

When you find a product that interests you all you need to do is click on the thumbnail and you’ll be taken to a page where you can get more information about the product and see the various prices for that product. Since this website specializes in supplying industrial safety gear you’ll see discounted prices listed for the purchase of multiple quantities of each item.

I found the site to be easy to use, easy to navigate and there were images and detailed product descriptions. That’s everything I want in an online store – no matter what they sell.

Since there are more and more people like myself who are beginning to renovate their homes or properties on their own I’d love to see a home safety category that would list products that could be used in the home setting to keep home owners safe.

Perhaps they could sell three legged ladders, painting platforms – especially ones that could be set up over a staircase and other items such as those. Perhaps the store owners could look up data about accidents in and around the home and see how many are related to DIY, maintenance or renovation products and choose to sell items that would make the kind of activities that caused those accidents safer?

I would think falls from high places – like working on a roof, or falling off an unsecured ladder would be high on the list, which is why I was suggesting that a three legged ladder might be an item that they should consider selling.

If the Discount Safety Gear store owners took the time to look up home related accidents they might want to make up some information sheets or FAQ’s that explained how to do some of the more common maintenance and DIY tasks in a safer manner. I’m certain that they’d get an influx of visitors who were searching for this kind of information.

I realize that the Discount Safety Gear store sells products mainly to small construction companies, but if they added a selection of items and information related to home safety gear I think they’d double or even triple their traffic and sales. There’s a lot of potential for this store if they’d care to expand.

If you work in an industry that requires safety gear, or do home reno projects like myself, do take a look at this online store. The items are reasonably priced, and if you purchase over $100 worth of goods the shipping is free. Check it out.

Wallhogs – create your own wall art

by Tricia

I’ve been fascinated with the idea of owning a wallhog ever since I first heard of them a few months ago.

What’s a wallhog you ask?

Well, Wallhogs are basically BIG prints that you can hang on the walls of your home or office. What’s best about wallhogs is that you can make them as personal as you want.

By this I mean to say that you can use your own photographs to create a big print wallhog to hang on your wall.

If you have a photo of a special event – perhaps your son hitting his first home run, a lovely photograph or perhaps even a corporate logo you can have it made into a large poster, vinyl wall hanging or even a canvas print.

create_wall.jpgI mentioned corporate logo because I can see businesses using wallhogs in their offices or perhaps at trade shows and other events to advertise their company symbol or perhaps even to create a wallhog or two to display products that the company specializes in.

As far as using a wallhog in the home, why wouldn’t you want to decorate your home with personalized wall art?

You can upload your own digital photographs for use as a poster, canvas or vinyl print, or you can browse through their catalog of photos and images in order to find the perfect wallhog for your home or office.

We have a large empty wall in our basement that would be perfect for a wallhog. Prior to hearing about wallhogs I’d been thinking of having an artist paint a mural on that wall. Now I can just select one of my own photographs or choose one from the catalogue and use that on the wall.

How cool would it be to place a wallhog on one of the walls in your child’s bedroom of their favorite character or favorite things?

Wallhogs have come to be known as BIG prints, but you can get them made in several sizes.

Poster:

If you’d like to get a wallhog poster you’ll be pleased to know that a 24″ tall by 4 ft wide poster only costs $19.99. Isn’t that fantastic price – especially for an item that you can totally personalize by using your own photographs or digital images?

Posters can be created in sizes that range from 2ft to 7 ft by up to 4.5 ft. and are priced from $19.99 to $74.99. All posters have a high gloss finish and are shipped within 72 hours.

Vinyl Prints:

Vinyl Prints are the most versatile of the products available at Wallhogs because they are made to simply stick to a bare wall and can easily be removed, stored and reused again.

Just like the posters, vinyl wallhogs come in a variety of sizes ranging from 2ft to 7 ft by up to 4.5 ft. and are priced from $24.99 to $79.99 and they are also shipped within three days.

One thing I like about the vinyl prints is that the background can be removed from an image. Look at the sample image that I’ve placed above – do you see how the backgrounds been removed so that only the child about to hit a baseball is shown? You can have that done with your own prints so that the focus of the Wallhog is on whatever you want to be shown.

Canvas Prints:

Canvas prints range in size from 11 x 14 inches up to 24 by 36 inches. The prices for a quality canvas print wallhog are quite reasonable as well – $19.99 to $49.99. Surprisingly canvas prints usually ship on the same day.

Are you beginning to see why I think Wallhogs are a fantastic idea? You can use them anywhere! Where else can you get high quality, fully customizable art for a reasonable price?

Oh and if you are an artist or photographer Wallhogs has a program that allows artists to sell their work within their catalog, or via their own website.

I’ve yet to purchase a Wallhog but I can tell you that the wallhog team is fantastic.

Scott, who writes the Wallhogs blog, and I have been talking occasionally over the last few months and as soon as I get my act together I’ll be uploading several of my own photographs to the Wallhogs catalogue. Scott is also happy to promote photobloggers on the Wallhogs Blog by posting their photographs in his post. He’s posted a few of my photo’s on the blog already.

Do take a moment to visit the Wallhogs website to get more information about the prints that you can create for your home or office walls. Don’t worry if you don’t have any good photographs to use – browse the catalog as there’s some fantastic images and photographs there for you to use.

Realtors use House4Cell to instantly get info to interested buyers

by Tricia

I’ve been asked to discuss an exciting new service that’s been made available to those who work in the real estate market. The name of the service, a nice play on words, is House4Cell. This service allows realtor’s to use mobile technology in order to market properties.

Those interested in a property will only have to text in a code that can easily be found on the “for sale” sign in front of a property and they’ll instantly get a message containing photos and information about the property.

As a homeowner, I think I would have liked having this technology available to me when I was searching for a home to purchase. As it was, when I did see a house that looked interesting I’d stop and write down the name of the realtor, as well as the website if it was listed and then go home and try to do some research on the internet. Now, however, if a realtor were using the House4Cell service I could get the information I wanted within a moment of texting the code into my cellphone.

There is a free demo of the service on the House4Cell website if you are interested in seeing how this new program works.

I’m sure this program will enable realtors to connect with interested buyers much more quickly and it might in fact increase their sales. As I said, when I was looking for a home to purchase I would have been happy to use such a service and I’m sure many of those who are reading this writeup would also find such a service to be helpful.

When a potential new client uses the text system to get information for a particular property, not only will they get information about the property and up to three photos, but they will also get fax numbers and email addresses so that they can request more information or perhaps even set up an appointment to view the property.

Realtors offering this service might actually get more leads to follow up on than their competitors who choose not to sign up with House4cell.

Plus, through this service you’ll be able to send “blast alerts” to homebuyers who have opted-in. Through these blast alerts you can let interested parties know of price-drops or other homes with similar features in the same area.

Inquiries can also be tracked online.

If you are a realtor think about checking out this new service. Rate plans start at $29.99 for three listings, which is only about $8 per property.

House4Cell is a sister company of Cellit Mobile Marketing. They make it easy for their clients to manage their mobile market campaigns.
