How’s your credit card holding up in the buying season?

by Tricia

I hope that all of my visitors had a great holiday season. I was wondering how many of you saved some of your shopping for after Christmas so you could catch some of the post Christmas sales? New Year Sales, or as we have here “Boxing Day” sales?

Are your credit cards taking a beating? Stats for the UK show that credit cards are used for the bulk of spending by consumers during the Christmas and New Year period and I wouldn’t doubt for one minute that those stats hold true for large portions of Europe and North America as well. Apparently January is also the month when the majority of new credit card applications are made. Often these applications aren’t for new cards per se, they are to transfer current balances over to new credit cards. Often ones with 0% balance transfers or low interest cards.

We had absolutely no Christmas budget this year due to my illness. We just couldn’t afford to go out and get gifts for everyone like we normally do. One benefit of this has been that our credit card, for once, did not take a beating this year. It’s nice to be able to say that.

However, if you are unlike me and you put a lot of your holiday expenses on your credit cards you might be interested in visiting the Card Guide Co, where you can compare credit cards, interest rates, and all of the various cards with rewards attached to them from air miles to Sony points.

The Card Guide is just full of information that anyone looking to get their first or their 5th credit card would find useful. As I said earlier you can compare credit cards, learn about balance transfers, and read many of their informative articles when you visit the Card Guide. Check out your options.

Great cash back deals at Deal King

by Tricia

I’m sure that you already know of a few coupon sites, and you might really enjoy using them, but have you ever found one that also gave you cash back when you made a purchase? I bet you haven’t unless you’ve already discovered dealking.com.

Dealking.com lists literally 100’s of online stores for you to browse through and view their coupon codes and deals.

Many of the deals listed on the Deal king site also offer cash back when you make a purchase. For example their Prepaid T Mobile to go phone has a great cashback offer. I believe you can get the phone free after rebates and also get $30 cash back from Dealking.com when you take the offer through them. Check it out.

Do you need to bullet proof your home or business?

by Tricia

I don’t know if you have this problem in your City, State, or Province, but lately there’s been a rash of shootings on the streets of Toronto. I’d say it’s picked up dramatically over the last three years or so. Why this is happening, I don’t know, but as a consumer I know that I’d feel much safer if I knew the stores or restaurants that I frequent had bulletproof Glass on the windows facing the main street.

Now, I might be over reacting a bit – but if you lived here you’d be shocked at how often shootings take place, particularly in the downtown area. I know some areas of the US are also plagued by gang warfare, drive by shootings and random shootings- maybe just for the heck of it and I’m sure that many businesses in those areas would also benefit by having bullet proof glass installed in their store front windows. Heck I’m sure some of the people in those areas probably have a need for bullet proof glass on their cars.

Actually I just learned of a product I wasn’t aware of when I was reading the Pacific Bullet Proof site. There’s even a product called bulletproof Fiberglass. I thought that when I first heard the name of the product that it would be used on cars but it can be used on just about anything. It’s a bulletproof material that’s sold in sheets and it looks like it can be used in a number of different ways. Check out their site if you, or perhaps a business owner you know might be interested in learning more about bullet proof products.

I know this wasn’t a gardening topic but for some of you it might relate to home protection. I hope that this information can be of some use to some of my readers. At least you know a little bit more about what’s happening in Toronto lately!
