Which wedding favor would you choose?

by Tricia

I was just browsing through a website that has very unique wedding favors – you know the kind of little gifts that you give your wedding party or your wedding gifts when you get married?

The website that I visited has a number of unique wedding favors to select from and I wish that I’d known about this company several months ago when my niece was getting married as I could have suggested she browse through it. She would have loved the gift selection there.

When I attend a wedding I enjoy getting these small gifts. Sometimes when I know a couple didn’t have much money to spend on their wedding I wish they wouldn’t have purchased these gifts but they often do it so that their guests have something to remember their wedding. My niece, a unique person herself, decided to give out shot glasses that had her and her new husbands name written on the side. They have a website that is full of recipes for drinks so their wedding favors suited them to a T. Plus it doesn’t hurt to have a couple of extra shot glasses around for measuring liquor.

Personally, I enjoy getting wedding favors that I can use. I’m allergic to most products that are artificially scented so when people give us scented candles or things like that they are of very little use to us. I love it when we get some little thing that we can use.

After looking at this website I’m pretty sure that if my husband were picking out which wedding favor we ourselves would have given out or which one he would like to receive he would pick out something like the “wishing upon a star” Wine stopper. We enjoy a bottle of wine every now and then and having a few wine stoppers on hand is always nice because we don’t always manage to finish the bottle!

If I were choosing a Unique wedding favor from this company I think I’d have trouble deciding since there are so many nice gifts- many with practical future uses as well. At this very moment though, if I had to choose I’d probably pick out the Lucky Elephant place card markers, as I enjoy having dinner parties and I think it would be nice to have place markers to use every now and then when I wanted to seat the guests in a particular manner.

Which unique wedding favors would you choose, and why?

What is your child doing on their Myspace Account?

by Tricia

Do you have a myspace account yet? It seems these days that just about everyone has one. I have one but I really haven’t done anything with it- I assume there are a lot of people like me out there that have done the same, started an account to see what all the fuss was but then never really did much with it or explored the possibilities that the myspace account allowed.

Unfortunately, if you have kids, there is a high chance that they have a myspace account and that they are using it to it’s full extent. Now, I know there are a lot of good things about myspace like talking with friends online, and sharing photos and links etc, but there are a lot of bad things too. I’m sure you’ve heard some of the news stories about special police or FBI task forces concentrating on internet predators. It’s an unfortunate fact that many of these predators and pedophiles also have myspace accounts and use these accounts to talk to the type of kids that they are interested in or perversely drawn towards.

SpectorSoft has created a software application that does Myspace tracking. Concerned parents can record your child or teens myspace activity so that they can find out what there child has been doing on myspace. You’ll know when they’ve updated their site, or uploaded photos, made comments or invited people to be their friends. With this Myspace Tracking software parents can keep an eye on things and make sure that their “friends” aren’t really 45 year old pedophiles, or that your child isn’t being sent inappropriate photos. I don’t think this would be considered spying on your child. A parent using this software would just be looking out for their kid and making sure that something bad didn’t happen to them.

We go through enough confusing stuff as we are growing up. It would be nice to be able to protect kids from some of the worst kinds of encounters they might ever have.

Keylogging software for home and business

by Tricia

A software company named SpectorSoft has just come out with a new type of software that allows you to record every key that has been typed on a computer. Now I know to the average person reading this keylogging probably sounds like a horrible idea, but there several circumstances where it would come in handy and might even be invaluable.

You see, companies might be interested in using keylogging software in a data entry company. They could easily monitor the work that’s been done and make sure that perhaps the sensitive data that they are working with stays within the company. Governments or companies dealing with sensitive information might find this useful.

One use for the home that I can think of would be to monitor a teenagers computer activity. No I don’t mean using keylogging software to spy on your kids. Not at all. Perhaps your child has been accused of writing nasty emails to classmates or posting things on the internet about their friends or the school they attend. You child swears that he or she did not do this. Keylogging software could help you prove that your child didn’t do it – well at least not on the home computer anyway.
