Here’s an interesting video of an amaryllis blooming.
I love amaryllis.
I have three in my basement right now staying cool. Actually, maybe it’s good that I’m creating this post right now because I think I’d better bring them upstairs and let them start getting some bright light.
I want them to bloom in late January or early February just when I’m really jonesing for some pretty flowers.

Actually both the Thanksgiving Cactus and Christmas Cactus are known to bloom twice a year, with the first blooms of the Thanks Giving cactus between October and November and the second between February and March, while the Christmas Cactus tends to bloom in December and January, and then again in April or May.
