Take the time to smell the flowers

by Tricia

image003

If it wasn’t raining out I’d take the time to go for a little walkabout in my garden and smell the flowers like this adorable kitten seems to be doing.

Sweet photo isn’t it?

I know I’ve used it on one of my sites before, but I don’t think it was this one. Hopefully this photo is new to many of you who view it.

BTW my Green Thumb Sunday post is coming soon. I’m really sick today and I’ve got a lot of work to do … so I’d like to get that done first and leave the Green Thumb posts at the top when I’m finished. It’s a long weekend in the US so I figure that my USA readers might not come by until sometime on Monday anyway. The rest of you … I’ve either missed or perhaps you’ll make a return visit.

Due to my workload and illness I might not get around to Green Thumb Sites today – hopefully I’ll make the rounds tomorrow.

Fringed Orange Tulip

You’re probably starting to think that most of my tulips are orange, aren’t you?

Honest, I have tulips in many different colours. It’s just that the orange ones seem to interest me the most this year. I love the fringed tulips. As you can see in this closeup they are very ornate and have a lot of flare, or Zing. Whatever you want to call it, they give the garden a little something extra and I just love them.

Late yesterday afternoon I decided to do some work in my front garden. That’s where I found this beauty.

The front garden has been pruned and tidied up now. Hopefully I’ll feel up to finishing the back garden sometime later today. I really need to get the flower beds in the back yard finished.

BTW this photo, and the one I’m using on Tricia’s Musings is straight off the camera. No cropping, no adjusting color – just as is. Some people have been asking what kind of camera I’m using, it’s a Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 7.2MP.

Coral Hyacinth

I think I’m in love with my hyacinths this year. They are all so very lovely and the scent that they’ve produced has just been wafting into my home on nice days when we have windows and screen doors open. One of the joys of spring and growing scented flowers I suppose.

I took this photo last Sunday. I believe that the name of this hyacinth is “Gypsy” or something like that. It’s just gorgeous. I must buy more of them as I’ve only got a few in that color.

You know, every time I look at one of my photos of a hyacinth I can smell them. Isn’t it funny how the mind works? Do photos of scented flowers or pictures of foods you love do that to you?
