Looking for love in the UK

by Tricia

Loopy Love. Isn’t that a great name for the first UK free online singles dating site. I think it is. I thought that perhaps some of my UK readers who might be trying to find love in the UK might want to check out Loopy love.

The site states that each week, two or three marriages occur between members who met on Loopy love, and that there are 100’s of satisfied members as well.

What’s different about this online dating company, when compared to others, is that there is no initial joining fee. That’s right the service is totally free since it’s funded by the advertising on the site. Now, how many free online or otherwise dating sites are you aware of? Probably very few. Most dating sites charge the male members at the very least.

You can begin your very first search from the front page. Simply choose who you are looking for, man or woman, select the age group that you are interested in, then list an area of the UK in which to find your new love, and hit the quick search button and see how many potential matches you’ve made.

Once you are registered, you are a full member. This only takes minutes BTW, and you’ll be able to do more in depth searches. It would probably be a good idea to complete your profile, and include a photo of yourself first before you start searching. Just in case you make a quick match. Then, once you’ve registered you can run full searches that include more detail than the quick search on the front page, such as searching for someone with a specific hair colour, eye colour, body type, height, ethnicity, religion, education, employment, industry, income, whether they drink or smoking and so on.

All of the members are from the UK, so where ever you are in the UK you should be able to find someone close by who wants to try dating. Maybe several some bodies if you are really lucky. You can receive match alerts by email, plus chat with other members online before meeting them too. I almost forgot, along with adding photos to your profile, there is a video profile option as well. What could be better than seeing a potential match via video.

Visit Loopy love if you are looking to date someone in your area.

The Pink Fridge

by Tricia

Have you heard of The Pink Fridge? It’s an online magazine for UK women. Yes, I know, I’m in Canada – why am I writing about an online magazine in the UK? Well, I know that many of my readers are from the UK and from Countries all over the world. This is most definitely a global site, and I thought my UK readers might be interested in hearing about the Online Magazine.

Just like a print magazine there are a number of sections of interest to browse through.

There is a Love and Life section and it’s filled with articles such as being your own boss and working at home, a supermarket dating guide, an article suggesting that women should pay lower insurance rates because we are better drivers, general advice and many more topics from marriage to personal finance. The Health and Beauty section has quite a number of current articles as well, ranging from an article discussing skin types to a weight loss guide.

The popularity of Manolo Blahniks are discussed in an article in the clothing section, which is a sub-directory of the shopping section. I expected to find listings of online stores or discussions about the UK’s fashionable shops in this section but to my surprise I found articles about fashion trends, clothing, Jewelery, perfume, and a well written article that discussed the history of Champagne and it’s uses today.

I quite enjoyed the Travel section, reading about the city of Prague, golfing in Scotland and beach holidays on the Mediterranean. I was drooling as I read about Cyprus. It sounded so wonderful.

Try as I might I was unable to find any information regarding the name of the online magazine. Perhaps the Pink Fridge refers to something unique to the UK that as a North American I’m ignorant of, but I was curious as to how the name of the magazine came about and wished I could have found some information about the name.

I was quite pleased to find that all of the articles were well written and held my attention. I think this Online Magazine could easily have a broader focus since many of the topics are of interest to women all over the world. The only suggestion that I would make for the site owner would be perhaps to make the font ever so slightly larger in order to make it a little easier to read the articles.

I think my site visitors would find The Pink Fridge to be an interesting site and I do hope that a few of you will visit and decide for yourself if you enjoy the articles or not. I stand by what I’ve written and think that The Pink Fridge could very well develop into a popular online magazine over time.

Organized Wisdom

by Tricia

I came across an interesting site that I thought my readers might enjoy.

It’s called Organized Wisdom. It’s goal is to have people visit and either share a health tip, or information regarding a health concern; or for people to visit and read the health library and others peoples stories of shared wisdom.

This seems like a great way to get information about health problems and to see how others deal with their health related issues. You can even read some inspirational stories there too.

Now, I know that some of my readers have health issues, back pain, and even arthritis – why don’t you Help others by sharing 1 piece of health wisdom at OrganizedWisdom.com. Your story might end up helping someone else.
