Lovely orchid video

by Tricia

I am the Video hunter! LOL Do you like these videos that I’ve been posting? I haven’t received much feedback on them so I’m not sure if they are going over well or not.

This one is very short, but it’s a lovely colorful orchid going from completely closed bud to fully open vibrant flower. I think the orchid is a very complex looking flower and it’s interesting to watch exactly how they open up- which petal moves first and so on.

Orchid Time Lapsed Video

by Tricia

Have you ever tried growing orchids?

I’ve been trying my hand at them for the past two years with mixed results. I lost one because I must have kept the medium it was growing in too moist, but I’d had it for two years before I lost it and I got two babies off of it. So I’d call that a semi success. Then I lost one of the babies too.

I ended up purchasing another Orchid last year and it’s still alive! So I have one baby that has quadrupled in size and an orchid that i’ve had for one year. Neither are showing signs of blooming anytime soon.

If you’ve grown orchids how did you do? Any tips to pass on?

I found this time lapsed video of a Orchid flower going from full bud to full blown blossom. It’s lovely.
