The Fairy Rose

If you don’t have a lot of room in your garden, nor time to give special care to plants you should consider getting The Fairy rose.

It’s a small shrub rose, only about two feet high with tiny roses that cover the branches several times each season with lovely pink blooms.

The only thing this little rose lacks is scent.

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

I love this flower.

I can’t figure out why I haven’t grown cosmos for two years though. I mean, they are so easy to grow. Heck they reseed themselves so well that you only have to plant seeds about once every three years or so!

Note to self – be sure to plant some cosmos next year!

A lovely pink Balloon flower.

I believe my pink balloon flowers have stopped blooming, but my blue Balloons are still pushing out a few blooms each day. Soon, now that it finally seems to be cooling down a bit, they will stop blooming all together.

I’ve found these flowers to be very easy to grow once they get started. I’ve only had one transplant fail and that was a clump of white Balloon flowers that I took from my parents home after my mother passed away. I just couldn’t get that clump to grow. I believe that Balloon flowers have long tap roots and most plants with similar root structures do not transplant well.

Hey, I had to try.
