ConstructionDeal helps you get the project done!

by Tricia

My husband and I have been renovating our home since the day we moved in 6 + years ago. It’s kind of tiring to live with ongoing or in reality at the moment stalled projects! I’ve seriously thought of hiring someone to finish the project we started in our living room dining room!

Then just the other day I saw that a posting for ConstructionDeal.com Site Recaps, so I took a look at the site and I thought that a site like this might be perfect for myself as well as for some of my readers.

If you are a land owner, home owner or perhaps even a business owner and you are thinking of creating a construction or renovation project and you need to find contractors or service professionals to complete your project just visit ConstructionDeal.com.

ConstructionDeal.com offers their service completely free. Just go to the site and take a look around. You can either create your own post detailing your project and the services that you need, or you can browse the directory for a service professional.

Using the directory is actually quite easy. Just find your State and city listing and then you can browse through service listing for residential or commercial services such as new construction, additions/remodels, Interior, and exterior with listings for architects, landscapers, plumbers, contractors, painters and just about any kind of construction renovation service in between.

Posting your own project works in a similar way. You need to locate the type of professional service that you need and then create a post that lists details about your project, your estimated budget, location and contact information.

Easy as that and you can get started on your project!

ConstructionDeal.com only has listings for the United States at this time. Since I’m in Canada I can’t use this great free service at this time, but perhaps in the future they will expand their listings across North America.

Other features of the site include their home improvement blog and financial assistance for projects via ConstructionDeal.com’s partnership with E-Loans.

Check it out!

Trying to make plans for our bathroom reno project

by Tricia

Once my husband and I complete our living room dining room renovation project it will be time to move on to the next project. We won’t be taking a break in between projects since the living room dinning room reno has taken forever and has been more break than work lately.

I’ve love to work on our upstairs bathroom. It’s so small! At this point I haven’t decided whether we’ll work with the very small space that we have or if we’ll knock down a wall and expand the bathroom. Obviously knocking down a wall and expanding would be what I’d prefer to do as we’d be able to have a very nice upstairs bathroom if we did that.

Still … it’s a much bigger project in every way from expenses to the amount of work that would have to be done. We’d have to move the pipes and drains and so on. I’m not sure we’re up for that right now. Not on our own anyway.

So, if I were to stick with just renovating the small space that we currently have I think that it might be best to take out the bathtub altogether and install a very nice shower. Ideally I think something like this shower would work well in our small space. I think it would take a little less room than a bathtub so we’d be able to put a upright cabinet in the bathroom as well.

Right now we’ve just got a toilet, bathtub with makeshift shower and a very small sink with an under sink storage cabinet.

Speaking of sinks I’d love to get a new sink. One that looks like a beautiful bowl sitting on a table or counter with wall mount taps above the bowl. That would look beautiful.

I’ve actually been looking at the selection of bathroom tubs, showers, taps, furnishings and accessories at www.Taps4Less.com to get some ideas for our bathroom renovation project.

As you can tell I don’t have any definite plans for this upcoming project. It’s going to be a difficult project whether we keep the bathroom as is or expand.

Any ideas?

Discount Safety Gear

by Tricia

As I’ve said many a time, Spring is the time of year when home owners start to spruce up their homes, and start renovation projects both indoors and out. It’s also the time of year when new housing projects start up, and or construction crews and road crews get busy on various city or private construction projects.

As you probably know by now my husband and I do a lot of our own projects around the home. We attempt to work on our projects in the safest ways possible, for example we wear gloves, masks and safety glasses when doing many of our projects so that we can protect our hands, lungs and eyes.

I strongly believe that anyone working on a DIY project or who works professionally in the field of construction should have the appropriate safety gear.

DiscountSafetyGear.com has a wide assortment of industrial safety gear. They have products ranging from Safety Goggles to ear plugs, welding helmets and accessories, respiratory protection, Hard Hats, flashlights, other lighting accessories and many more products including a wide variety of First Aid Kits, and you’ll even find a section on safety laws and links to safety related websites and resources.

I think that this website has been well thought out. The menu system to the left has been divided into all the main safety gear related categories that I’d imagine anyone looking for safety related products would want to see.

When you open up one of the category sections, perhaps the hard hats section for example, you’ll find thumbnails that divide the section into sub-categories giving the visitor the ability to shop by price, brand, or type. Below that section you’ll see samples of their most popular hard hats.

Did you know that you can purchase Harley Davidson hard hats and Pink Hard Hats? You can be safe and maintain a fashionable look at the same time!

When you find a product that interests you all you need to do is click on the thumbnail and you’ll be taken to a page where you can get more information about the product and see the various prices for that product. Since this website specializes in supplying industrial safety gear you’ll see discounted prices listed for the purchase of multiple quantities of each item.

I found the site to be easy to use, easy to navigate and there were images and detailed product descriptions. That’s everything I want in an online store – no matter what they sell.

Since there are more and more people like myself who are beginning to renovate their homes or properties on their own I’d love to see a home safety category that would list products that could be used in the home setting to keep home owners safe.

Perhaps they could sell three legged ladders, painting platforms – especially ones that could be set up over a staircase and other items such as those. Perhaps the store owners could look up data about accidents in and around the home and see how many are related to DIY, maintenance or renovation products and choose to sell items that would make the kind of activities that caused those accidents safer?

I would think falls from high places – like working on a roof, or falling off an unsecured ladder would be high on the list, which is why I was suggesting that a three legged ladder might be an item that they should consider selling.

If the Discount Safety Gear store owners took the time to look up home related accidents they might want to make up some information sheets or FAQ’s that explained how to do some of the more common maintenance and DIY tasks in a safer manner. I’m certain that they’d get an influx of visitors who were searching for this kind of information.

I realize that the Discount Safety Gear store sells products mainly to small construction companies, but if they added a selection of items and information related to home safety gear I think they’d double or even triple their traffic and sales. There’s a lot of potential for this store if they’d care to expand.

If you work in an industry that requires safety gear, or do home reno projects like myself, do take a look at this online store. The items are reasonably priced, and if you purchase over $100 worth of goods the shipping is free. Check it out.
