I redecorate when it’s too cold to garden

by Tricia

Now that it’s cool outside and we can’t be in our gardens do your thoughts begin to focus on the inside of your home? Mine do. At least in December, January and February as it’s too early to really begin thinking of even starting seedlings, the only things that I do plant or garden wise during those months is maintain my houseplants and the plants that I’ve brought in from outdoors.

That leaves plenty of time for me to think about home renovations- of which we are deep into these days. This weekend our tin ceiling will go up in our living room dining room!

I also think about decor.

This is the time of year when I move furniture around to give a room a different look, or buy new furnishings to replace old and worn furniture or again to renew a rooms look.

Some of you might have kids that are growing older and might begin to think of redecorating their rooms, perhaps buying some kids furniture. One site that you might want to look at while you search for furnishings for your living room/ dining room, bedrooms or kids rooms might be www.greatpricedfurniture.com.

As the sites domain name implies they have great prices on their furniture and more importantly some very nicely styled furnishings. The link that I’ve listed above is for childrens furniture and if you visit the link you’ll see some very nice dressers, chairs, nightstands and beds. I like that some of their furniture designs for kids are smaller versions of adult style furniture. Kids like fun stuff but as they grow older they also like to have things that are similar to what their parents and other older family members have. Purchasing furniture designs such as these is one way of telling your child that they are maturing.

Have a look at the site and see what you think of all their furniture designs. I’m sure you’ll agree that they have some quality products.

Give sloppy kisses to your loved ones

by Tricia

Now here’s a site that I think might be of interest to my readers. Are you a dog lover? I bet you are, and if you’re not I’m sure you know some people that just adore dogs of all types.

The site is called Sloppy Kiss Cards. I love that name, don’t you? It’s perfect for the site considering that it’s a site that has animated Ecards for dog lovers. Get it? The site has over 35 dog breeds to select from and you can even name the dog that stars in the card that you create.

You can browse the site and have fun picking out dogs and cards and creating cards but you need to sign up for a membership to actually send a card to a friend or loved one.

I played with creating card and I just loved the card I created. I choice a dachshund that looked exactly like one that brother used to have, choose the name Sammy because that’s what that’s dog name was and made a card for my husband. I picked the I love you card. It showed the dog on the beach, near a billboard that said I luv you, with office buildings in the background that’s lights spelled out I love you and so on. It was really cute. At least my husband got to see the card when I made it.

Since there is no advertising on the site, the site gets its funding through membership. Membership only costs $9.95 for a year and once you are a member you can send an unlimited number of cards. A portion of the membership fees will go to support Petfinder.com.

I love this site. Please do check this out if you are a dog lover and let me know if you agree that its a fantastic find.

I need new contacts for my dry eyes

by Tricia

My eyes are so irritated from lack of sleep and dry air that I’m not even wearing my contacts lately.

I keep trying to remind myself that I need to get new contact lenses. I haven’t purchased lenses in more than a year and It’s beginning to be a desperate situation.

I still have a stock pile of single day use Ciba focus lenses, but I don’t find that they are as comfortable for me to wear in the winter months. The lenses are thin and dry out easily, particularly in my dry furnace heated home. I think the medications that I’m on also make my eyes drier so I need to find eye contacts that are a little bit thicker and don’t dry out easily.

I’ve had Discountcontactlenses.com bookmarked for a while now. I’d like to purchase the Ciba Focus Night and Day lenses from them. I purchased some a year ago from an Optician specialty store and they were the most comfortable lenses that I’ve ever worn.

If I buy them from Discountcontactlenses.com I can get them for as low as $36.39 a box if I purchase 4 boxes. That’s a great price. I don’t think that I can find a lower price anywhere else.

If you need to replace your contact lenses you should check out discountcontactlenses.com to see if they carry your favorite lenses. They probably do as they seem to carry all of the major brands and styles from what I can see.
