If you live in the city and only have a small space to plan, plant and enjoy your garden in, like myself, you might be interested in picking up a copy of Melinda Myers book Small Space Gardening as it is a great resource for space challenged gardeners.
Myers book is aimed at gardeners whose love of plants exceeds their properties capacity. Her book begins with a series of layout and planning tips that are very helpful for small space gardeners. It then gives plant – specific information as well. Some of the plants discussed in Small Space Gardening include vines with good screening potential, and dwarf evergreens that won’t grow too large for your yard.
There’s an illustrated directory of popular small space plants with information that tells the reader which plants are great for attracting birds, or butterflies, provide fragrance, color and which plants are drought resistant.
In my opinion this book is worth including in your collection of gardening related books.
