Great flight and vacation deals with Dial a Flight

by Tricia

Spring is just about here, and for many of us, thoughts of holidays and travel are starting to fill our heads. Yes, I know that many of you might already be vacationing this month since your kids might have a week off for March Break, but perhaps some of you are planning late spring or summer vacations too?

In the last few years my brother and his wife have become world travelers. Planning exotic vacations to Countries they’ve never visited before. Two years ago they went to Africa. A month ago they went to India. Now they are planning a trip to Nepal for next years holiday.

Now, I’ve visited a site called DialaFlight.com. It’s based out of the UK and mostly services the UK market, but I was thinking that even North Americans planning trips such as ones my brother and his wife have been on recently might take advantage of flights and travel packages offered by Dial A Flight.

Why? Well, I know that on many of my brothers recent trips they ended up stopping over in the UK and catching another flight from England. Why not use Dial a Flight’s offerings for that extra leg of the trip and save some money? More money in your pocket means that you’ll have more to spend when you get to your destination right?

If anyone is thinking of going to Asia you should take a look at the deals that can be found at Dial a Flight. For example a Bangkok Flight from London’s Heathrow Airport is going for only £250 (a little over $500 US) right now. I think that’s an excellent deal.

Other than the prices and great deals, you know what’s really cool about this company? They hire sales people who have been to the destinations that they offer flights and vacation packages to – nothing like talking to someone that’s been where you want to go.

If you are based in the UK or even if your flying through the UK to another destination keep Dial a Flight in mind. You could save some money.

Interactive maps at Hotel Magician let you pick a hotel in the area You want to stay in

by Tricia

I just visited a site that has created an innovative way to search for hotels. Anyone traveling for business or pleasure could use the Hotel Magician website’s interactive hotel maps to find a hotel in just about any place throughout the world. Hotel Magician has listings for over 55,000 hotels.

What I like about this site is that you can go to the front page and type in any city, airport code or even a major landmark and the interactive map will bring up hotels from that area. You can search for hotels within a specified range of of one to one hundred miles from the city or area that you’ve typed in as your search term.

Just to try the system out I did a search for hotels in the Toronto, Ontario area. Hotel Magician brought up a long list of Toronto Hotels. Each hotel had a brief description, a star rating, and listed prices for the various types of rooms/beds within the hotel. If I wanted to I could sort the listings by Top Picks, Price, Rating, Hotel Name, Area or Landmark. I could also select up to five hotels in the list and view them on a map.

The most interesting way to search of course would be to use the interactive hotel maps. Just look at the travel tools menu in the left sidebar and select the interactive hotel maps. You’ll be brought to a page where you can type in the city, landmark, airport code and distance from the location and then view the hotels in the area using the interactive map.

Toronto and the surrounding area has a lot of hotels, so when I tried out the interactive map I used the zoom function on the map to show just the hotels located in Toronto’s downtown area. Once there I could click on hotels in select areas and then click on the description for more information or begin to make a discount hotel reservations. It was so easy! I was also pleased to see that if I could filter my results on the map by hotel brand if I was interested in staying at a particular hotel chain.

I really like this method of searching for a hotel. I mean, normally when you are searching for a hotel to stay in, in another city you might not know the layout of the city all that well. You know what types of area or tourist attractions you want to be near, but a simple list of hotels doesn’t always give you enough information and you could end up booking a room miles away from the part of town that you’d rather have stayed in. Mistakes like that could ruin a holiday or business trip.

With Hotel Magician you can be sure that you’ll book a hotel room in the area of a city that you want to stay in. It’s that simple. Check it out for yourself.

Dreaming of Buenos Aires and escaping this cold weather

by Tricia

It’s -15 Celsius (5 F) outside right now! at 6 in the evening – do you know how cold it will be at midnight! Ahhhh!

The furnace is going full blast and still I feel cold. Just at the thought of what temperature it is outside even thought it is fairly toasty inside my home. This is when my old lady neighbour will end up walking into my backyard through the ice and snow to knock on my window and ask me to fix her TV … just when I want to hibernate indoors.

I am dreaming of a trip to a warm place right now. Some place in South America perhaps like Buenos Aires where the temperature is 25 C (77 F) right now. Oh my gosh, I’d love to be there right now just for the warmth.

Ok there’s plenty of reasons other than our current cold weather as to why I’d love to be in Buenos Aires right now. The warm temperatures are a huge factor, I’ll freely admit it, but the beaches, the people, the cafe’s, and the exotic animals. As many of you know I love reptiles and well, South America definitely has reptiles.

Actually as an amateur photographer I’d love to just sight see, and wander the streets taking photographs that would capture the essence of Buenos Aires as I saw it from a visitor/ tourists point of view.

I obviously found a site about Buenos Aires as I began to day dream about going to someplace warm and tropical and the site I found is specifically about Buenos Aires and it highlights all the different things that you can do in the city and surrounding area. The posts contain links to other great sites about specific attractions in Buenos Aires.

I’m bookmarking this site. I know I’m going to get away to a warm place like Buenos Aires eventually and this site has a lot of great info about things to do, hotels and places to see while visiting this interesting city.
