{"id":1077,"date":"2008-10-05T01:56:45","date_gmt":"2008-10-05T05:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/feverishthoughts.com\/garden\/?p=1077"},"modified":"2010-10-30T19:07:50","modified_gmt":"2010-10-30T23:07:50","slug":"wild-flowers-and-berries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/feverishthoughts.com\/garden\/2008\/10\/05\/wild-flowers-and-berries\/","title":{"rendered":"Wild flowers and berries"},"content":{"rendered":"<!--CusAds--><p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/feverishthoughts.com\/garden\/2006\/06\/23\/green-thumb-sunday\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm1.static.flickr.com\/104\/306398715_49775ad925_o.gif\" alt=\"Join Green Thumb Sunday\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/feverishthoughts.com\/garden\/2006\/06\/23\/green-thumb-sunday\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Join<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last week Chris and I took our dog to one of our cities (Toronto) beautiful parks for a nice long walk outdoors.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"912745ff53504cd4aef8ff3ef7b9aa95\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: right; margin:10px 0 10px 10px;\">\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\r\ngoogle_ad_client = \"pub-3375789278566919\";\r\n\/* gardengrows_300x250inpost *\/\r\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"4054669721\";\r\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\r\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\r\n\/\/-->\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\r\nsrc=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Our dog had a ball running around in the off leash areas and uhm &#8230; rolling in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feverishthoughts.com\/2008\/10\/01\/mud-dog\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\">mud!<\/a> and we had a nice time watching her, talking to another dog owner (who&#8217;s dog played with Midnight during our hike) and simply enjoying our surroundings.<\/p>\n<p>The trees are only just starting to change color here in Toronto, so I mainly focused on talking pictures of wild flowers as we walked.<\/p>\n<p>I came across these flowers that I think look quite bit like my perennial Asters, but I&#8217;m really not sure what kind of flowers they are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"IMG_4931 by triciawd, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/dragonden\/2902459183\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3017\/2902459183_34e112c92c.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4931\" width=\"451\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p><!--CusAds-->\n<p>They&#8217;re pretty aren&#8217;t they?<\/p>\n<p>I also came across a small tree (maybe 10 feet tall?) that had these lovely black berry clusters growing among the leaves.  I&#8217;ve seen this before but I cannot remember what this tree is called.  Any ideas?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"IMG_4929 by triciawd, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/dragonden\/2902458109\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2415\/2902458109_d37260fa3e.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4929\" width=\"451\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The rich black berries are solid looking with a shiny outer skin.  The berries are probably just a little bigger than your baby finger nail .. maybe the size of your ring fingers nail?<\/p>\n<p>The clusters of berries looked very pretty in the tree among the leaves.
