I think we might have had a very late Indian Summer here in Toronto! The temps got up to 17 C or 63 F and tomorrow&#8217;s going to be warm for this time of year too.<\/p>\n<div class=\"912745ff53504cd4aef8ff3ef7b9aa95\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: right; margin:10px 0 10px 10px;\">\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"><!--\r\ngoogle_ad_client = \"pub-3375789278566919\";\r\n\/* gardengrows_300x250inpost *\/\r\ngoogle_ad_slot = \"4054669721\";\r\ngoogle_ad_width = 300;\r\ngoogle_ad_height = 250;\r\n\/\/-->\r\n<\/script>\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"\r\nsrc=\"http:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/show_ads.js\">\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Of course, the warmer weather probably isn&#8217;t doing my garden much good as it has been cool here for a few weeks and in a few days it will be cool again. Yep, the garden is pretty much shutting down for the winter.<\/p>\n<p>I still have some roses that seem stuck in bloom and some rose buds that haven&#8217;t opened and that probably won&#8217;t, but most of my flowers are dying down.<\/p>\n<p>About two weeks ago my New York Asters were in full bloom &#8211; now they are fading although there&#8217;s still some pale purple\/ blue color on the plant.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the flowers looked like when they are at the height of their bloom-<\/p><!--CusAds-->\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"First new york aster blooms 2 by triciawd, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/dragonden\/4065693357\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"New York aster in full bloom - lovely!\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2515\/4065693357_76a80ab1d2.jpg\" alt=\"First new york aster blooms 2\" width=\"450\" height=\"307\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The pink salvia was also putting out new blooms &#8211; but they too are pretty much gone now as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Pink Salvia bloom  by triciawd, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/dragonden\/4066436016\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Pink Salvia beginning to bloom\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2664\/4066436016_20ca830ae4.jpg\" alt=\"Pink Salvia bloom \" width=\"450\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My Liatris plants stopped blooming by late August or so, but they developed seed heads in September and October.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"faded liatris bloom 4 by triciawd, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/dragonden\/4066417106\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow external noopener noreferrer\" class=\"ext-link\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Liatris or Gayfeather seed head in Autumn\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2804\/4066417106_a9872c83b3.jpg\" alt=\"faded liatris bloom 4\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I collected the seeds off of some of the Liatris stocks and planted them in a few sparse areas of the garden.
