One nice Medieval looking Guitar

January 10, 2011 by Chris

This is one hell of a Medieval looking guitar that I found. The wood carving is extraordinary to say the least. I wonder what the artists sees in the wood that allows him/her to extract such a beautiful work of art out of it? If I had the time and the tools, I’d love to take a crack at creating a guitar as distinctive as this one.

I wish that I could find a profile shot of this guitar. When I look at the volume control buttons in the bottom left of the guitar, it seems like they are counter sunk into the body. Does it look like that to you? If you look closely at the bottom right of the guitar near the rhythm pick up, it’s furthest pick up to the right, there is a coat of arms there. Is it me or does the writing look like it’s written in Arabic? Anyway, this thing looks awesome! The person that would suit this one perfectly would be my dear old friend Eddie! I hope you enjoyed it.

Intergalactic Guitar anyone

August 18, 2010 by Chris

Now is it just me or is this the most intergalactic looking guitar that you’ve every seen? It appears to be part spaceship and guitar all rapped up in one. Ah, this must be the Spaceship Super Star‘s guitar! Finally I found the Solar Power Laser Beam Guitar that Prism was talking about. All that is missing is the solar panels.

Beautiful Custom made Electric Chrome Guitar

April 25, 2010 by Chris

I cannot find the correct words to describe this beautifully crafted custom made chrome electric guitar. Just look at the detailed work that had to go into something like this. Did the craftsman etch out the pattern on it? Did he or she make a mold then put it into a press to create this master piece?

I found this one when I was on line late one night and I was completely captivated by the intricate arrangement. I attempted to zoom into the name that is in between the pick ups but I couldn’t. The mounts that hold the pick ups are really nice. The tailpiece is so rock hard looking that it appears that it can take a beating! Then there is the distinctive bridge footings that make me think that the person who developed it paid tons of attention when forging it.

The only thing that I find odd about this beauty is that there are only two controls on it. If you make a piece of instrument art why don’t you give the musician(s) more options to tailor fit your sound. That is the only issue that I have with this guitar.

In all honesty, I think that I’d just put this baby under glass and never play on it. I’d be too afraid to scratch it, enjoy!

G & L Guitars

October 19, 2007 by Chris

Has anyone out there heard of this guitar maker? I found out about these guys through a patient that I was taking back to their room after a procedure. The patient was a bass player and said that it was the pride of the collection. So curious about it I went and googled it.

To my amazement the makers were none other them Leo Fender – Maker of all pre-CBS Fender as well as Music Man instruments – and George Fullerton.

Leo Fender, we all know who he is but, the other guy, not so much. George Fullerton is the co-creater of the Fender Stratocaster. Not a bad thing to have as a lasting legacy of a man now is it!

G & L was the result of Leo having to sell his company in 1965 due to health problems that he was having in the early 60’s. It was started up in 1980 at the same location that had housed his Clarence Leo Fender Research (CLF) facility.

Some of the musicians who use these beauty’s are personal favorites of mine. For example:

Carl Perkins, Canada’s own Gord Sinclair (The Tragically Hip), Peter Frampton and Bob Mayo (Peter Frampton Band), Neal Schon (Journey), Davey Johnstone (Elton John band), Gary Hewitt (Gary Allan Band) and all the guitarists from Aerosmith and INXS. Just to name a few.

If you happen to come across this post and own one of these beauty’s PLEASE write a comment here about your experiences about your axe. We’d really like to hear from you, please?
