Hey all, it seems that you are enjoying Odd planets new home. Well I hope you are anyway! It should certainly be easier for you to post comments than when it was over at blogcharm, and I do love comments. Don’t we all?
I have a couple problems that maybe you can help me with?
1. I don’t know how many of you are viewing the site in Internet Explorer, but the sidebar is loading near the bottom right in IE. I have no idea why it’s doing that. The site looks fine in Netscape, Firefox and Opera, but it has that one problem in IE.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a fix? I wrote to the theme creator but haven’t heard back from them.
I’m a perfectionist so I want to fix the problem. Plus, Bl0gexplosion won’t accept the new Odd Planet since it apparently doesn’t load properly in IE.
I guess that’s my main problem. Other than the fact that I’m using wordpress 2.04 and it doesn’t allow me to change the time stamp on any pages I create, and comments won’t work on the pages either. I checked a few different themes and they all have this problem so I know it’s got something to do with wordpress. Maybe I need to re-install it?
If anyone can offer some advice I’d love to hear from you!

I just went to work on my blog this morning and found wordpress had a whole new look and stuff. *lol* guess I got an automatic update to 2.0.4… Or my friendly webhost Techwench did it for me. Anyway, it threw me for a bit when i saw it. and I have a problem with comments as well. my latest post has 3 comments and you’ll see them all if you click to read them, but the link to go to the comments only says I have 1 comment. I don’t have a problem with changing timestamps tho. the pull down menue under “write post” works just fine for me.

Yep, I’m using IE and your sidebar is at the bottom.

I have no solution to offer but wanted to let you know that the sidebar is at the bottom in Safari too. Sorry.

you theme is probably written for Foxfire. IE doesnt work well with Foxfire written themes. If you want your theme to work in IE you will have to adjust the size of the objects in you sidebar. This can be easily done by adding width=”100″ (100 is just a number to start with) right after the image link. like this… I did notice that you do not have many images, but something in your sidebar is probably interfering.
You are not alone, you can check on my site, I have the same problem. You can you get your sidebar closer to the top of the page if you adjust the size of links and images.
Good Luck.

Dawn – Your fix worked! I’ve been wracking my brain and resizing the sidebar (or right content area as my stylesheet says) was the only thing I hadn’t thought of or tried.
I was adding up the size of the left content area and the right content area and taking into account the padding the stylesheet has added and it was larger than the total width of the blog or theme or whatever. So I changed the width from 200 (that was there) to 180 and Ta Da it seems to work.
Thanks for the tip! It worked!
Jeremy- if you’re cruising by again, let me know if it’s working in Safari? Or anyone else that’s using Safari would you please let me know if everything looks alright now?
Rav’n my problem is in the PAGE section. I have a timestamp when I select “write post” but not when I select “write page” and my comment area doesn’t show up in the pages that I’ve created. I’m thinking this is a wordpress 2.04 problem.
Babs- should be fixed now, I hope, I hope I hope!

you’re right Tricia. I think its a wordpress thing. I don’t see a timestamp for the PAGE section either.
