A trial is going on right now in Tokyo involving a 70 year old Japanese woman. What did she do? She bombarded a 79 year old man with over 200 love letters, repeatedly cleaned his family tombstone and broke a stalking ban.
The woman had forced her way into the mans home seven times between July and October last year despite a court order to stay away. This woman didn’t take no for an answer it seems. The woman sent 206 love letters and cleaned the mans family grave site 85 times!
When she was ordered to stay away from the man by the court she demanded 1.25 million yen ($10,300) from him for the amount she’d paid in order to get a drivers license to travel back and forth to his home and for gas costs.
Later she sent threatening letters to the man saying “if it comes down to it, you could die”.
Prosecutors are seeking a 10 month jail sentence since they think that there’s a high chance that the defendant could commit another offense. No kidding!

Maybe introducing her to a few hobbies might help, like cutting newspaper articles, gluing them together on a clean piece of paper and mailin… oh, wait…

A jail sentence doesn’t seem like the way to deal with this.
