If your beloved pet just died you don’t have to go on living without him. Nope. You can make jewelery out of him instead.
That’s what Sue Rogers of London did with her dead pet dogs and cats. She had a diamond ring made from their ashes. Rogers from Devon England paid 3.200 pounds to have a ring made from carbon extracted from the ashes of Lucky, his old English Sheepdog, a tom cat named Patch and a golden retriever called Sam.
I’m starting to see a pattern here. Are you? It seems you have to mourn a few pets before you can make jewelery out of them.
“I am delighted with my ring as it means I can have my pets with me at all times,” Rogers told the Daily Mail newspaper.
“My animals meant the world to me and even though they are gone they are still with me. It’s a beautiful ring and such a brilliant idea.”
Rogers, who had previously kept her pets ashes on her mantelpiece heard of LifeGem UK, a company that makes diamonds from the remains of humans and pets. She contacted LifeGem and they used a small amount of carbon from each set of ashes.
The ashes are heated to 3,000 degrees Celsius in order to create a rough diamond. The stone was then cut, polished and certified before being set into a gold band.
I always new pets were real gems.

Would you consider turning your beloved pet into jewelery?
If you know of anyone who’s made jewelery out of their pets ashes I’d like to hear the story or see photos of the jewelery.

Do you love your pet enough to make jewelery out of him or her? Would you do it if you could?

Just when you thought you had heard of everything! I am a BIG fan of all sorts of jewellery, but this is kind of creepy, don’t you think?

When I heard about this I told my husband I plan on turning him into a diamond when he’s gone – I was teasing him about how right now he’s a diamond in the rough but when he’s gone . . .
Indian Bangles says
Is this for real or some kind of joke?
Talia Phillips says
It’s definitely for real, they have been doing this for years now. I remember reading that an adult person can be turned into a ton of little diamonds. It’s not like they make one great big one or anything. It makes sense though since we are in large part carbon. I just wish I had the money to do it! It’s expensive.
