In February two anti-whaling activists created a plan to attack a Japanese whaling ship near Antarctica with a bottle of acid and a smoke bomb. One activist was from Australia and the other was from Los Angeles.
Unfortunately the pair got lost in the fog while in their small dinghy and ended up being rescued with the help of several boats. One of the boats was the Japanese Whaler that they had planned to attack.
Once the activists were safe they thanked the Japanese crew, but one said, “I guess we’re back on schedule, and we’ll be pursuing you again.”
A short time later, the activists approached the whaler and tossed the acid onto the deck. Two crew members were injured in the attack.
I’m against whaling but injuring people that just possibly saved your life is just cruel.

Fanatics will never learn that this type of crap is ineffective.

This type of thinking is so typical of the closed minded idiots that live by the moto the end justifies the means. So why not just attempt murder of other humans to save whales. These people should be prosecuted and put away for a long time.

Have a link for proof?

Sure – here’s a link to CTV.ca news story about the activists:

Proof enough?
Craig Landon says
Activists they may be, but seaman they’re surely not. (That’s an insult, BTW)
CyberCelt says
Seems to me if they were big time activists, they would be packing more than a bottle of acid. What did the acid mean?

Why do you feel the need to qualify your commentary?
Instead of “I’m against whaling but injuring people that just possibly saved your life is just cruel.”
…how about “Injuring people is just cruel”??
Otherwise it appears as if you are trying to justify their actions. For example, why if the whalers were not the ones that had saved their lives?? Is it okay for them to then throw the acid??
Alan says
That is just sad. Those people saved them yet they go back and attack as if nothing happened.
@kevin i’d say that no matter what, they shouldn’t have thrown the acid. Although they disagree with whaling, it is legal (at least last i heard) so they should protest peacefully.
kip says
What the hell were they thinking?
Monica Benut says
I think it is sad that people go to this sort of measure. You know, it is ok to state your opinion on the whaling problem and I certainly agree that it has been taken to far.
I’m also against whaling but these guys do take things too far. Good things can’t be achieved by doing bad things. It’s called karma.
