This weeks theme is Original
This is a photo that my wife took a year or so ago. We were driving in downtown Toronto along Lakeshore BLVD and I believe this mural is painted on the side of the Redpath sugar refinery building.
It’s a gigantic mural. The building is at least 100 feet tall and 50 feet wide if not even bigger and the mural covers the extent of one whole side of the building. It’s beautiful!
If that’s not original I don’t know what is!
wooo..nice ..great..that’s really different from other entry..happy weekend!
thats really nice enjoy your weekend
very original and beautiful!
That is so cool! I love murals and that is wonderfully done.
Very nice!
It reminds me of a mural that I saw on the side of a building in Victoria, B.C., about 14 years ago.
Hope you are having a great weekend!
OH, that’s magnificent! A whole wall! Great. Never seen any underwater creatures on a wall before.
I agree that’s a whale of an original. Great choice.
Beautiful photo! Mine is up too. Hope you can visit me. Have a great week.
It is beautiful, you’re right. What a pleasant change from those huge blank industrial exterior walls.
I think it’s COOOOOL looking.I would have liked to seen the person put it on there.
There’s another of these murals in Detroit (it’s best seen from the 3rd base line bleachers at Comerica Park). The artist is from Michigan and has done several all over the country albeit not all that expansive. His name escapes me.
That building is a real eye-catcher! GOod thing you had a camera along.
I’ll bet it was done by Wyland. When I taught first grade, we had an article about him in one of our textbooks. It described how he went about doing those huge murals. I think I saw a thing about him on PBS, too. He definitely has his own style.
Amazing angle of the painting.Looks like the sun is coming out from those windows. It would have been nice for the painter to create a sense of 3d.
Very good photo.Bravo!
Beautiful Mural love the angles.
