Hmmm I guess this guy knows this moose pretty well … I mean, I think he’s giving the moose a kiss!
This photo reminds me of the moose that used to come and peek in our cottage windows. We’d visit the cottage on the weekend and at least one day each weekend (only for about a year) that we were there we’d have an interesting peeping Tom peering in at us.
The moose usually arrived at breakfast time. We’d all be sitting around the table eating our breakfast and a shadow would pass by the window, just feet from where we were sitting. We’d look up and see a moose looking in at us. I wonder if our food looked good to him or he was just curious about us?
Either way, he was huge, and moose can be ornery … so we never dared to go out and visit with him.

ewwwww, I’ll give ya some listerine. Why would someone kiss a moose? Moose and many other animals lick themselves in their private areas after their rid themselves of bodily fluids and solids. Animals eat dead things, they eat bugs, etc. Why would anyone kiss an animal?

From what I’ve heard the Alaskan ones would have just given him a stomp down. Here in Hawaii we like to kiss sharks though.

I took the picture posted here of my husband Bill Donner kissing our pet moose Molly. We live in Sterling, Alaska. I have many pictures of Molly that I would be glad to post if you’d like.
Molly is a very gentle moose but I would not recommend people getting this close to a wild animal. It wasn’t the smartest thing we have done. Luckily she has always been gentle with us but she did stomp our neighbors dog to death so we no longer encourage her to come around.
She does occasionally come by but not as often as she used too.

Wow Nancy thank you so much for your comment and thank you for not minding me posting the photo. I found the photo humorous but I do understand that moose can be quite dangerous. If you read my story above in the post you’ll know I experience my own visiting moose at our cottage too although I never dared get that close! LOL
