Earlier this month a Toronto man went to check on his property in the central Ontario community of Dundalk only to find that his 10 year old double wide manufactured home was missing. Just think about that for a moment. It would be bad enough to find your place robbed, but completely gone? Yeah, that’s one for the books!
All that was left on the property was the foundation that the 45 foot double wide home had stood on. His home was too large to easily move so he was quite puzzled as to how someone could have stolen his home.
He went to the closest provincial police department in Southgate Township to make a complaint about the theft of his home.
As it turns out once the police were aware of the homes theft it didn’t take too long to find the missing $30,000 house. It was on a property not too far from its former location – how it got there is still unknown. Ownership documents found at the scene were found to be fraudulent.
Jeffrey LaForest of Southgate Township is charged with theft over $5,000, mischief, and uttering a forged document.
Never heard such thing strange.
That’s totally weird news , that man would have felt the difficult time and would have got the pain like an heart attack because his shelter was not there. The house theft is really a strange news.
the whole house?! omg
Ha ha gutsy to steal a house!
Invisible tornado? LOL
Wow, the United Nations should give an award to the guy who stole this house for “the biggest balls.”
At least it can’t have been to difficult to find the home as it would have been quite difficult to hide!
It’s difficult to believe that such an incident could have occured, especially if we take into account that there is always someone who notices even the most “silent” theft. However there are such persons who are extremely good at stealing the most unpredictable objects from under your nose)))
Those things are pretty difficult to move, not only do you need a big truck, you have to unhook the plumbing, that takes a while
howz that possible……..if it really true we must find them
This is a most surprising news I’ve ever heard. I think something must be wrong there.
OM! that was so hilarious! I couldn’t imagine how the thief did it.tsk, tsk!
haha! Unbelievable but funny; how can a house be stolen?
Really?? This is really weird and strange. How did they do that?
Unbelievable…
You’re not serious? I laughed so hard at this one. How could anyone even try to pull this off?
All the trouble this guy went through to steal the home he could of probably had a easier time getting a loan to buy his own….
I think its brilliant. the fact is that no neighbor is going to think about theft when the trucks and cranes would have to show up to more the house, after all theft is something that takes place in the dark and is meant not to be seen. this had to be done in plain view.
the best way to hide something is to do it in the open.
So terrible! Unbelievable!!
Unbelievable!!!
Woah! That’s crazy! stealing a home without thinking that they may got caught. It’s quite daring
Now that must be a shock, coming home to find your home isn’t there!
Its really strange. I wonder how the thief managed to move the whole house.
Really daring! Stealing something as big as a house is really strange.
Strange and very weird story. How come that the whole house was missing?
This is unbelievable but true!
Wow, this really takes the cake. Thank goodness the house was found.
I’ve often wondered about mobile homes being stolen. I’m just surprised that in this case they parked it not so far away that could be easily found.
how in hell did it leave its place??i just can’t believe it..
its funny but sad
How does that even happen without someone seeing it??
I mean, a HOUSE??!!!
Crazy thieves, what do they think?
LOL! dumb criminals. He can literally say his whole house was stolen ha.
So not a single witness that though, “Hang on, is someone just taking that house?”
Nice to know the neighbours look after each other!
Lol! This is the first time I ever heard of that news. How can that be possible?
Hahaha, this was so strange! I guess creativity is the only limit for the criminals.
Those things are pretty difficult to move, howz that possible……..if it really true we must find them.
Very difficult!
All I can say is “good luck to the man who got his house stolenâ€. I mean, yes I’ve heard of things that got stolen, cars, gadgets, even animals. But I really never thought that a whole house can be stolen! Interesting and a bit ridiculous though.
Try explaining that to your insurance company!
That’s so terrible and almost impossible! I can’t imagine the look of the owner’s face when he saw his whole house was gone. The thief must have been really, really good.
how can some one stole a house???this is strange.
Clearly aliens are behind this…
Could this be really done? Such a queer story! I pity the man, couldn’t imagine going home without a home!
i’m really surprised on what i’ve read it seems so impossible that the whole house was stolen.
Wow, the United Nations should give an award to the guy who stole this house for “the biggest balls.
wow its truly like in the UP movie…!!!
The whole house? So, does that shit really happen? That is one of the most surprising things I’ve ever heard.
Hahahaha Oh my gosh! I don’t even know what I would do. I mean, what’s the first thing that goes through your mind when you find out your house has been stolen. That and how did Larry, Moe and Curly think they were going to be able to talk their way out of stealing someone’s house?!
I’m just surprised the house value was only $30000. My parents live there and the small bungalows in their area are going for over $700 000!
Silky it was a double wide trailer parked on a lot – not a bunglalow – that’s why it could be moved easily enough and why it was worth a much lower price than a home with a foundation etc.
