A BUILDER is offering to bare all and use his tools to raise money for charity.
Sporting just a hat and a fluorescent vest the 35-year-old will be making customers blush as he weeds the garden, dusts the house or carries out building work in the buff.
Ian Powell wants to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of his father, Hector, who died 12 years ago. His friend, David James from Bleadon, has also offered to strip off and help with the money spinning idea.
The pair came up with the idea for the nude fund-raiser over a few pints, but claim they do not need any Dutch courage to strip off and do some DIY.
They are offering to spruce up gardens, carry out building work and help around the house for a small donation to the charity.
Ian, of Warren Road, Brean, said: “My dad was fit and healthy and then all of a sudden he had a heart attack. The British Heart Foundation is a good charity to support, it appeals to a lot of people. So far we’ve just done some work for some friends. We were a bit embarrassed, it’s a bit crazy, but you get used to it and don’t worry about it in the end.
“Our friends take the mickey a bit, but people can’t say we haven’t tried. My dad would’ve laughed at what we’re doing. He had a great sense of humour.”
It is not the first time the daring duo have disrobed for charity, two years ago they raised £60 by taking on some odd jobs, but they are hoping more people will take them up on their generous offer this time.
