Ah, it’s the time of year that most guys look forward to isn’t it? Nah … not because it’s almost spring! Give your head a shake! No, it’s because it’s the time of year when the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is available for sale. I think it’s a little bit ironic that it comes out on Valentines day, don’t you?

Naturally with each years issue there’s some new controversy over the Swimsuit issue. I wonder what it will be this year?

I didn’t realize that the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue has been published since 1964! That means that this is the 43rd Swimsuit issue. Not many magazines seem to have this long a life, let along a particular feature that’s lasted so long.

While the actual Swimsuit issue doesn’t come out until Valentines day, which is Wednesday, you can visit the site now and have a peak at the cell phone wallpapers from SI Mobile. Apparently the wallpaper images come directly from the photo shoots featured in the magazine. So I guess you could say that this is your way of getting a sneak pre-view of what’s going to be inside the magazine. The cell phone wallpaper images are only $1.99 each and they’re available for all of the major wireless carriers.

Over 50 super models are featured on the site, so there’s plenty of great looking wall paper to choose for your cell phone. Models such as Heidi Klum, tennis star Maria Sharapova, Molly Sims and many more are prominently featured on the site. There are also classic SI cover girl wallpapers from past years on the site. One example being Elle Macphersons ’87, 88, and ’94 cover photos.

You can even download video clips from the photo shoots. They call these Video Ringers because they are ringtones with video. I’ve got to catch up with this technology!
