Someone sure likes their broccoli!
It seems a refrigerated trailer loaded with over $50,000 worth of broccoli was stolen. Why anyone would want to steal that much broccoli is beyond me. I like the green veggie but that’s an unbelievable amount of broccoli isn’t it?
The trailer truck disappeared from it’s rented parking space sometime between Sunday and Tuesday Morning. Aha … now I know why our veggies are already going bad when we buy them. They sit in trailers for days before they are delivered to the stores? Geez. The theft took place in a Chicago Suburb of Villa Park.
The police of course were hunting for the missing trailer, not the vegetables. “What is someone going to do with that amount of produce?” Zorich, a police Detective said. “On the black market, I can’t imagine that’s something that’s worth money to anybody.”
Police didn’t have any immediate leads as to where the missing trailer and veggie bounty disappear to. The theft is listed in a missing vehicle database.
“We have homicides happening in town,” Zorich said. “We’re not really looking for a truck of broccoli right now.”
