A fellow officer, Tim Airhart, who&#8217;d been standing nearby demanded that Acker spit the bag out.  When Acker didn&#8217;t co-operate police used a chemical spray on Acker hoping that it would force the suspect to gag and cause him to regurgitate the small bag. <\/p><!--CusAds-->\n<p>The officer, Long, placed his hand near the suspects mouth and waited to catch &#8220;whatever it was he was about to spit out&#8221;, but instead of spitting the bag out, the officer heard a loud &#8220;crunch&#8221;. <\/p>\n<p>Acker gnawed the tip of Longs index finger for three or four seconds, tearing and smashing it.  The mangled finger was molded back together and bandaged at Hancock Medical Center. <\/p>\n<!--CusAds--><p>En route to jail, Acker vomited in the police car, officials said.
