These lovely yellow Hollyhocks give my garden a kind of old fashioned look … but just in some areas of the garden. I love these full double flowering hollyhocks. I have others, black Hollyhocks, that are single flowering and they only have about five petals, whereas these must have twenty or more petals per flower.
I just wish that these lovely old fashioned Hollyhocks had a scent!
See. I’m as good as my word. Here’s a follow up picture of the actual bloom of the balloon flower, the bud and “balloon” was featured in my last post. I also have a deep blue (almost purple) version of these Balloon flowers and they are just as lovely as these white stripped balloon flowers.
This photo is of Balloon flower buds, and one blossom – the large white “balloon”. This is an amazing flower to watch as it goes from bud to blossom. I’ll post a picture of an actual Balloon flower tomorrow so you can see what it looks like when the Balloon opens.
We saw this truck parked on one of the sidestreets here in Toronto and I couldn’t resist taking pictures of the gaffiti that someone had painted all over the truck. It was done in a way that makes it look like it might be part of the truck or the truck owners company logo … but then it doesn’t. I’m really not sure if this was an act of vandalism or done on purpose. Either way it’s kind of cool to look at.
