Aren’t Balloon flowers great? They get their name because their flower bud looks quite a bit like a balloon before it opens into the flower you see above. Very pretty. I get quite a few people stopping in front of my house to look at the balloon flowers.
Garden Mums – grown in an urn on my front porch, Autumn 2006 I just can’t get enough of these gorgous garden Mums. Such pretty multilayered flowers.
Monkshood, growing in my garden, Toronto, summer 2006
Monkshood is a lovely flower that blooms in the fall. It’s flowers kind of look like a shoe or a ladies slipper or I suppose like a monkshood. Hence the name. These plants are highly toxic so keep your pets and young children away from them if you grow this plant.
A lovely hybrid tea rose – Scent_sation – that I grow in my Toronto garden It has lovely flowers when it blooms. Too bad it doesn’t bloom as often as I’d like it too!
