Alium are such strange flowers … they are part of the onion family, but of course the ones we grow in our garden are ornamental and I’m sure are inedible.
These Alium tend to bloom at the end of June for me, but this year we’ve had a cooler than normal summer so they didn’t start to bloom until maybe the second week of July! Either way, we enjoyed seeing them … too bad they only bloom once.

My alliums were late too this year, we’ve had a pretty rubbish summer! Despite all the rain the stalks have turned an unhealthy straw colour, I’ve no idea what I’ve done to offend them! Yours look lovely however, thanks for a lovely picture.

That is a shame they only come around once a year, they are gorgeous flowers!

it’s really cool to see a flower in the onion family. Like the way this photo came out. What kind of camera did you take thi with may I ask.

That is a very pretty photo with gorgeous colors. It is a shame that those flowers only bloom once, but I am glad you were able to enjoy it. Thats what they are here for I suppose.
