Carson Pirie Scott

The store, Carson Pirie Scott, was one of the most beautiful buildings that I saw while I was in Chicago. Sadly, I heard that this store will be closing soon. I hope they save the lovely metal work.

Chicago Alley

I’m not sure why,, but this alley captured my eye as we passed it while walking in the downtown Chicago area. Perhaps it was the light at the end of the alley or the darkness within.

Chicago Cab

Chicago cab on a busy downtown Chicago street. I loved the look of the Chicago cabs and couldn’t resist taking a picture of at least one while we were there for a short visit in August. I doubt that riding in one would have been much different than riding one here in Toronto, but they sure look different from our cabs!

Horse and buggy

Horse, buggy and coachmen seen on the side of the street, Chicago, Downtown.

These days it’s fairly unusual to see a horse, let alone a horse, buggy and coachmen on the streets of any city.Â We do have horses here in toronto though … but their ridden by Royal Canadian Mounties! So this was a different horse related sight for me!
