Horse, buggy and coachmen seen on the side of the street, Chicago, Downtown.
These days it’s fairly unusual to see a horse, let alone a horse, buggy and coachmen on the streets of any city. We do have horses here in toronto though … but their ridden by Royal Canadian Mounties! So this was a different horse related sight for me!
Red Chairs – Photo of the seating in the Jay Pritzker pavilion in Millennium Park, downtown Chicago. I like how the red contrasts with the overcast sky above. It’s a colorful sight once you are amoung all those racy red chairs!

Frank Gehry, winner of the National Medal of Art, applied his signature style to this revolutionary outdoor concert venue. The Pavilion stands 120-feet high, with a billowing headdress of brushed stainless steel ribbons that frame the stage opening and connect to an overhead trellis of crisscrossing steel pipes. The trellis supports the sound system, which spans the 4,000 fixed seats and the Great Lawn, which accommodates an additional 7,000 people.
This state-of-the-art sound system, the first of its kind in the country, was designed to mimic the acoustics of an indoor concert hall by distributing enhanced sound equally over both the fixed seats and the lawn.
This is a shot of the Crown Fountain in Millennium Park, which is located in downtown Chicago. The inner portion of the fountain has persons face digitized into it that blinks and purses it’s lips for water to spout out of now and then. After a few moments the screen will fade (as it is doing in the last photo I believe) and you will just notice the water falling from the top, then a new photo will come up.
The Museum of Art, located just down the street from the Crown Fountain, held an event where people who wanted their photos on the fountain could have them taken at the museum. I’m not sure if they are still doing that or not, but it’s a very interesting concept and quite the site to see.
