Aren’t these mums lovely? I love their multicolored hue. Yellow to light brown in color. usually I only see yellow, white or pink Mums for sale in small garden centers. I sure hope that stores start selling more of these gorgeous mums!
Amaryllis
I took this photo last year, but my Amaryllis should be blooming soon. Amaryllis grow from a bulb and can be forced into blooming by chilling the bulb for a period of time prior to planting. I just keep my bulbs planted and make sure the plants are left outside in a cool area or placed in the basement for about a month in the fall or early winter so that they’ll bloom for me in Febuary or March.
A swimming we will go
Swans and Ducks taking a dip in the cool waters of Lake Ontario in January. You wouldn’t think they’d want to swim in that frigid water, but they did! Certainly there’d be no food for them to eat unless they’re eating frozen vegetation.

Downtown Toronto, City Hall
Every winter a rink is created in downtown Toronto near city hall. People flock to the area for a nice skate. It’s kind of crowded, but on a nice winter day it’s a great thing to do!
